Where the hell did all of our cap space go, jesus, we had like the most or 2nd most available and now we're talking about being up right against it. I feel like we didn't even really make a move outside of the organization, besides Clarkson.....
- ThePresident

you added Bolland and Bernier without giving up much cap space off the roster. that plus Clarkson is a chunk.

I want to see Nonis go out and sign a 3rd line checker, with leadership abilities. I don't like the idea of Mcclement playing wing, we should look into Brendan Morrow, bet he'd come cheap. Kulemin/Bolland/Morrow.....after of course we dump Liles.

Cifford from LA... young fits in. Makes us even tougher. I like it.

a but this year they actually have 3 defensive forwards they can put out as a checking line in Kulemin-Bolland-McClement

Clarkson is not a defensive forward. Hes all about the forecheck and net presence

- Big_Lightnin

yeah your probably right...1st injury and Kuleman ( if playing better ) will be bumped up the lineup...who knows maybe Kuleman-Bolland-McClement actually get it going. As I said, Kuleman can be a beast and hard to knock off the puck, not afraid of the corners...maybe he can get Bolland/McClement playing like Grabo/MacArthur - damn I might as well buy a Kuleman jersey..

Gotten eaten up rather quickly, didn't they?

I think we'll be pretty much near the ceiling when the season starts. Assuming Franson and Kadri get new deals, and Liles goes.

Next year we lose 1m from Tucker, 1m from Armstrong, and 500k retained from the Bernier trade. That money will be eaten up by Kessel's new deal. as he'll get a 2.5m raise.

I suspect that Bolland/Kulemin won't be around after next season. McClement will get a new deal, and hopefully by then others will be able to step. up

We never had it..weeks before FA I did the math and it was clear we didnt. Sure we had the most space at the time, but only 10 players signed

But it's a useless argument on your part because he is a LW for us. He's most likely going to play the rest of his career here. He's a LW now. Putting him on the right side in your 2013-14 Leaf depth charts doesn't make sense.

He's a left winger on the Leafs. Kulemin plays the right side. I think Carlyle likes that he can get the puck out against the other team's point men on his forehand when he's on the right wing. Kulie is a straight north-south guy, he's doesn't do the pass across as much.

Kuli-Kadri-Lupul last season lined up in this order often

Believe what you want.

Acquired Bolland's 3.375 for draft picks

Signed Clarkson for 5.25

Signed Bozak for 4.2

Signed Bernier for 2.9

Signed Gunnarsson for 3.15

Signed Colborne for 600k

That's 19 million and change. We have roughly 7 left.

I actually think that McClement-Bolland-Kuli line will be one of the most effective checking lines in the league next year

agree with this completely.

acutally one of the things i'm really excited about. It's not a sexy line in terms of star power and buzz but i think it will be one tough line to play against,

and while i don't expect them to all have 20 goal seasons, i don't see why they can't be the new maca/grabo/kuli line, maybe less offensive production, but certainly better all around and especially in the role they will be set to play

They are going to get really tough matchups and almost exclusively d-zone starts. gonna be tough to generate much offense.

Just really hope Clarkson doesn't leave us on the penalty kill the majority of the time, he seems to take dumb penalties, and often.
