Kuleman's now a defenseman
Why would we want to move Kuleman? He opens up so much ice for his linemates.
Kuleman - Kadri - Lupul
Could be the 2011 Kuleman/Grabo/MacArthur line |

4 years is too long for Franson. 3 years 12m.
Still wouldn't be surprised if Dion got moved. It's just kinda hard to think of which teams would have an interest. Surely EDM makes sense, but the price for Dion shouldn't be that high, considering we didn't give much to get him.
Also, any deal involving Dion should have a conditional 1st rounder if he resigns with another team.
So something like
Dion
conditional 2nd(if Hemsky resigns)
_______
Smid
Hemsky
Conditional 1st
I think this deal's fair because there's good reason to believe Dion would stay in his hometown - AngryWhiteMale
So were tight on capspace but you want take on 2 million in capspace in a deal?

Move Liles, and give Frazer 1 year at 1m.
Dion Gunnarsson
Franson Gardiner
Frazer Grannberg
Blacker
Then let Percy gobble up ice time in the AHL,setting himself up for a roster spot in 2 years - AngryWhiteMale

I highly doubt Dion stays for less than 7.
He sure as hell isn't taking a paycut.
He wouldn't like being a captain and not being the highest paid - AngryWhiteMale
Dion won't be the highest paid. Kessel with be. |

not sure you're going to find a taker for Liles. he's 33 with with 3 years left on that deal. IMO he should have been the compliance buyout over Komisarek in Toronto. it looks like the only squeeze though is going to be the squeeze Toronto's putting on Kadri. once they lock up Franson and Fraser, there will only be so much left (say around $3 million). so he can either take that short term or long term. - Gary_B.
I think there's still reason to believe that Liles can fetch something, but I do agree it's put us in a tight spot.
We certainly won't be able to move ALL of his salary. |

Not sure why we would split up Fraser/Franson, they played well together last year. |

One thing this team no longer has is depth, if one our top 6 forwards goes down with an injury, we're screwed, big time. |

only makes $5.5M this year, 6.5M last year.
There are ways to get him more money for 3-4 yrs and still lower his cap hit.

Because Franson shouldn't be playing on the bottom pairing, and Fraser should be. |

Dude wake up. There is no (frank)ing way Kulemin is on the 2nd line and Clarkson is on the 3rd.
Kulemin-Bolland-McClement is the checking line.

Kessel is a right winger!
Lupul is a left winger!
Kulemin is a right winger!
Gardiner is a left defenseman!
Franson is a right defenseman!
If Gunnarsson and Phaneuf are your pairing, Phaneuf plays the right side!

Iunno no way give Phaneuf more then 6.5. I think thats a fair number if he wants to stick around. I agree he won't take less than that. Your captian doesn't need to be the highest paid player. If he thinks like that then thats pretty narrow minded. Kessel will get an extension close to 7.5 per anyways |

Ideally we'd have someone in the pipeline ready to step in, but the fact is that guys like Ashton haven't cut it.
Mckegg, Biggs and Leivo are a few years off. |

SCREWED
Kulemin and Bolland can both play 2nd line if need be. s3-4 Marlies that can come in on 3rd. Colborne, Damigo, Ashton, McKegg maybe. Biggs maybe |

Lupul has never played LW anywhere in his career except with Leafs. He is a RW Leafs moved to LW to play with Kessel.
Kulemin plays both wings, more Left than Right, and is a Left hand shot.
