Yes, the last 4 NHL seasons. Are you seriously going to make me look up more links to these? For starters, they've been in these forums about 10 times in the last month.

It's called reality. Read them, understand them.. And don't be such a child about it.

They only signed bozak so they can keep kessel. Simple. I for one dont like it much, but realistically he is only overpaid by what? 700,000K? Isn't the cap going up next year again? 0.7 more will look like peanuts and everyone will calm their nerves once we get a proper #1 centerman. I don't support the signing but if its to keep kessel here, then i guess we had to do it. Bozak will eventually be on the 3rd line where he belongs in due time. Despite us letting go of grabo, who was the better player than bozak, was arguably a good idea because we got a soldier in clarkson, resigned kessels lover, have some money left over to pay the rest of our rfas "hopefully".

Nonis took two contracts, the highest contracts that we did not need on the team, and got rid of them. Liles will be either traded eventually, maybe they play him more for him to retain some value, or he will eventually be bought out.

If we get our RFA's signed, with a few dollars left over, we're in good shape. Our defense will be better, with another year of experience and playoff experience. Our top 6 is one of the strongest in the east, outside of Pittsburgh. Our third line is improved and our goaltending is more solid. We were 5th in the conference and not that far out of second. We can improve our standing and still stay in the same position, thanks to Detroit getting dropped into the division. We just have to get there and then take our chances.

If the leafs did not sign bozak, kessel would of been traded right off the bat, arguably to the team who signed bozie
- Mapleleafs_91
I'm not convinced of that. Kessel wants to win and he knows that this is the Mecca of hockey. If Lecavalier had come here, I'm sure that Kessel would have been just as happy.

Grabovski.

I respect your stance, but I'll take 4 years of production over selective pro's from one game. I can fill this page with individual bozak (frank) ups this season, why not start with getting merk'd on every freaking faceoff in the playoffs?

Honestly? I'd prefer a massive upgrade on both. If I had to choose between the to, I'd take grabovski all day. Bozak would be a poopty top 6 center in Florida.

Of course....i wouldn't be surprised if they offered a draft pick as well or something.
Grabovski is not a hot commodity right now - obviously.

By the way, had the Leafs not signed Bozak, you think he would still be a UFA today?

Actually you are half wrong and half right on that one. Did you notice that every (frank)ing faceoff in the boston zone, he lost? And every faceoff in our zone, he won? I was losing my mind when watching this, was so frustrating im like how the (frank) can he win a faceoff in our zone and NOT win a faceoff in their zone. Geezus
- Mapleleafs_91

Was frustrating, agreed.

Pretty tough going up against one of the top faceoff guys in the history of the NHL all game long.

Exactly! I really hope he gets the RFA's signed to appropriate deals to fit everyone in and then i can say Nonis did a good job managing the cap and team. If he doesn't i will rant like no tomorrow. I don't mind gunner, but the fact that some people are infatuated with him and say he is phaneufs compliment is a joke. Phaneuf will never rise or shine with gunner. He needs the seabrook to the keith. He needs the suter to the weber scenario. Gunner is good, i really hope he bounces back, but he is not phaneufs best compliment as a pairing.

Once the cap is back up, and we get a #1 center, and bozaks contract looks like peanuts, then people will be satisfied. Im not satisfied because we have two key RFA's still not signed, who are KEY pieces to this team and the future, that should of been completed long ago and well before particular players who have recently resigned with us, which is making me anxious on what the hell is going on.

Seriously though... earlier I think we both thought we were still arguing about Clarkson... didn't mean to come off as a Richard, and probably thought you were being a Richard cause I was in that mindset still.

Perhaps, but would you take that chance to keep kessel, not have him signed on an extension by deadline? Hed obviously would of been traded by deadline if he did NOT sign an extension

You guys need to tone down the rhetoric and shake hands. It's all conjecture and personal attacks will only net you a short vacation, once the Mods get in here and sort it out. It is what it is and Bozak is in with Grabovski being out. Every team is struggling with a lower salary cap and there have already been some interesting choices, by a number of teams. At least we're not Philly and hopelessly over the cap, to the point of having to lose a significant asset, by the time training camp starts. Brayden Colburn is probably going to have to go, to get under their cap, so they'll not look the best, once it all shakes out. We solidified our team, adding Clarkson, Bolland and Bernier. We lost Grabovski, who isn't a big loss, when you consider what we've gained.

Well when you are watching the playoffs and we are on the powerplay, and the guy can't win ONE (frank)ing faceoff in their zone and the puck gets cleared, geezus frustrating as (frank) i tell you!

I'm having rational conversations with others, because they have some mental capacity above that of a toothbrush with half the bristles missing.

I'm abrasive to you, because you're a vagina.

Your approach has run its course. I get it. Management chose bozak so obviously he's better, if you can't see that you're dumb. You're little bozak ball swinging has run its course. Now piss off and go to sleep. Your 4 year old daughter has a big day teaching you how to read and comprehend ahead of her. Don't think she's going to have much patience for you being butt hurt all day about not making any new bozak fans out there.

We have gotten better in net, we got more grit and heart a strong soldier who will stick up for his team, and more defensive responsible in bolland. Our team is a more responsible, stronger, and better at keeping the puck out thats for sure. The only thing we lost, was a bit of offense and depth on putting the puck in the net. But that is okay. We have kessel, lupul, JVR, and hopefully clarkson to put the pucks behind the opponents net. If not this year, but the next we will have more depth and we WILL most definitely add more scoring if this year is not enough.

Did you have that kid when you were 12?

So what you're saying is that it's okay to reference the coach in bozaks situation, just not in grabovski's? You're argument is based around bozak doing better in a better situation for him than what grabovski had with Carlyle?

You're as simple as they come. You beat yourself to a pulp with your own dumbass words. If you're going to start throwing your panties around because you're not getting your way, you can (frank) off, and I'll let yourself stop making yourself look like a complete moron whenever you like.

- joel878

LOL - ouch, I am deeply offended!

Let's go back to this new coach theory of yours....
please again explain how Grabovski, who is better at every facet of the game, doesn't fit RC's system as well as Bozak?

I played hockey for many years (still do but only with overweight guys who can't seem to play more then 30 seconds without coughing up a lung) at a pretty high level. I have never ever ever known a player that beat a player out at all points of a hockey game that couldn't play as well as another lesser player for any given coach. I wonder, what does Bozak have in him that makes him play better under RC's system then Grabs......please explain?

Bolland is signed for only one year. If a first line center is acquired, at the end of the season, then Bozak slides into Bolland's spot. There is the possibility of an improved Gardiner, that blossoms into the next Letang. Before you all laugh, the raw talent is there and if it comes together, he becomes a lethal weapon against many of the other teams in the east. Boston had their hands full with his skating with the puck on transition, during the playoffs. They backed in a hell of a lot more, once the Leafs started using his immense skating talent. He just needs to get stronger and learn how to handle the forecheck, then he becomes a dangerous player. Team USA seems to believe so, since they included him on their roster.

We are more defensively responsible in the end with bozak over grabo. Grabo was going to be gone eventually and not kept. His contract is big, and once we get a more appropriate center, grabo would have no use even then. #1 will be filled eventually, kadri will have #2, bozak will have #3
