From an Flyers fan outsider's perspective, I have always liked Gunnar's game and he seems to do just fine as a top pairing. It's not exactly ideal, but to get a guy at 3.15 at the peak of his career for 3 years in your Top 4 is a no brainer. It could be a lot worse you could have Coburn at 4.5.

NAh retain $1.25M per year and trade him for a 3rd and a 900k guy we can demote.
keep our prospects, save them over $2M in first year.

Liles at $2.5M is probably of interest for a few teams.
