That's why it aint the best time to visit, during the regular summer months. Going in the fall is better. - GCHonda
nah, chicks wear less when it's over 100
I've been 5 or 6 times. Usually go around Easter - best prices. Got a wicked deal in August once. Was a big shock right away of how (frank)ing hot it was, but after a day or 2 we were used to it.

I was "hoping" we could get Clarkson for $5.5M (though I expected 5 yrs.) so lower hit but more term. Was saying $2.75M for Gunnar would be a steal, but figured $3M for 4 yrs was what it would be.
I'm saying Kadri gets the same deal as Bernier, and Fraser gets under $1M per for 2 yrs.
Franson no idea. 2 yrs at $3.5M probably.
more than 2 yrs buys UFA years, so number goes above $4M if Leafs want term, and don't think they have the cap for that.
ideal would be Liles contract, but he won't sign that. - Big_Lightnin
The way arbitration has been historically reliable for giving guys more money than they're worth, and the way teams panic to get those guys under contract prior to hearing.. I'm sure there was more at play then just getting his term.
I agree with you in a sense, but Fraser is not walking into arbitration and going 'no, no guys.. I'm just here for term. Forget about that extra money'

So Paul Stastny and Brett Hull are Canadian?
Stormey is Irish?! - AdamFrench
Hull played for team USA because he was cut from Team Canada he first time around...... Bryan Trottier also played for team USA in his later years because he would not have made team canada |

We never get buffets - so many amazing restaurants there that aren't THAT expensive.
usually go cheap on breakfast, normal lunch and big dinner. |

Pretty sure I read somewhere (could have even been one these blogs) that Kadri was one of the, if not the league leader in diving minor penalties. - vermie22

Good thing Team USA was busy reading the NY Times or else Gardiner might not have been invited to Olympic Camp |

fine, but if he asks for $2M per in arbitration they will laugh him out of the room.
so his ask is probably a 2 yr deal at about $1-1.5M, which is more than double what he's ever made in his career.
Pretty easy case for Leafs to win, as he isn't even guaranteed to make the team next year given all the prospects they'll have in camp (for arguments sake... )
his hearing isn't til next week. He'll sign before then.
arbitration IMO isn't usually kind to guys like Fraser who are easily replaced, fringe NHL guys, which prior to this shortened season, he was.
Now if Franson had gone to arbitration |

You're assuming that him, his agent.. Or the arbitrator, give a poop about what he's made in the past. He had a decent season, any agent that's half good at his job will leverage anything positive, and has historically won in arbitration. What exactly is the percentage of players who've 'lost' in arbitration?
Again, I don't disagree with you in a sense. I'm just leary of any arbitration hearing, and won't be making any assumptions because of it. It's been wildly unpredictable in the past. I hope you're right, but at the same time, if this battle has gone on this long over a year at under a million bucks? It's another huge fail on nonis's part. |

This is pretty much it. We hear so much about Clarkson's salary, where is the talk of Horton's salary. Or how about Clowe getting his contract for 3 goals. 3. |

they do though
and what battle? I doubt they even talked to him with all the other deals and RFA's they had. Fraser was the absolute lowest priority next to maybe Colborne, and he was easy cause he had no case. |

I thought Horton would get over $6M to be honest... was kinda surprised how low it was, but 7 years will do that.

Of the 3, the Horton contract is the worst. This guy is serious damaged goods. He's has had toooo many concussions, too many other injuries. Of the 3, this is a 100% guaranteed eventual buy out, that is if Horton doesn't retire b4 hand due to injuries. |

Fraser will get 1.12 per for two years. That's plenty for him and still cheap enough to do what needs to be done for the team. |

not in Columbus it isn't.
They might "Pronger" or "Savard" him, but if he can skate, they aren't buying him out. |

You're wrong on two counts.
The waterboy may have a million dollar case in arbitration. Everyone gets paid.
If they haven't so much as talked to him, it's another fail. It's a situation that could be easily avoided. |

He already is missing half the season next year. of the 3 I mentioned, Clarkson is easily the healthiest. |

I like how you have taken 2 absolute unknowns, looked at what I said I think will happen, and tell me I'm wrong
Previous salary IS taken into account. And a guy who isn't guaranteed a spot in the lineup doesn't have a strong case in arbitration.

Guys, the Leafs are done. They've destroyed whatever cap space they had by signing Clarkson and Gunnarson. |
