I just thought I would let you know that the name Hotstove when applied to hockey is utterly ridiculous. The term does not mean off season...it refers to the baseball off season which is in the winter and GM's are huddled by the hot stove working up plans and or deals...for hockey, perhaps you should use a term related to AC (air conditioning)...show some originality and common sense. - Chisoxhawk
You obviously aren't from Canada, which is cool, but the Hockey Hotstove is a well known edition of Hockey Night in Canada on CBC

Could probably use a tweak. But if the team is wanting to focus on speed I think this a decent bunch. Also canada should focus on chemistry. So short for practicing take it while you can - munky123
Let me get this straight. Pietrangelo, Methot, Letang, Seabrook, and Bouwmeester are better than Subban? Get out please.
Keith - Doughty
Letang - Subban
Pietrangelo - Weber
Seabrook, Staal
Larger ice means prioritizing great skaters like Keith, Doughty, Subban, etc. over guys like Weber, Staal, Seabrook, etc. Including Marc Methot in the roster is a complete joke. JayBo is a little less of a joke, but still pretty funny. |

Seebrook is better than Subban and watching Seebrook and Keith in 2010 and with the Hawks during they two championship seasons, they should never be split up, especially for Subban. While Subban is will give much more a wow factor, he's turnover prone and can lose his composure rather quickly. |

Letang - Subban is a terrible pairing if they both make it no way in hell they play together
And Weber on the 3rd Pairing is also dumb |

Neither Parise or Kane are centres. Chances are that the 4 C's for the US will be(in no particular order) Stastny, Kesler, Pavelski, and Stepan because they don't exactly have a ton of depth at the position. Orpik and Byfuglien also probably won't be on the team. They are way too slow for the big ice. My dark horse on D would have to be Trouba. Dude was sick at the WJC and WC on the big ice.
Also I think leaving Andy Greene off the invite list was a bit of a snub. Probably won't make the team, but he has a definite shot. |

Byfuglien isn't slow. He shoudl make the team. maybe not as a defender but he could used as forward, his size could be valuable especially on power play situations. Remember 25 guys make now, not 23. |

Quick would have to really poop the bed or go down with an injury(guy is just a beast of a goalie), but damn that would be awesome. |

Lol I love how everyone thinks P.K. Subban is a pure offensive D because he's flashy. Actually, he's the perfect two-way defenseman. A guy that shuts down top lines 5-on-5 and scores his goals on the powerplay. Get educated about his game before voicing your opinion. Also, could you explain to me how and when Subban loses his composure? I know someone who did lose his composure and slashed Jeff Carter's head... and he's also on this roster. Does it make him an unreliable player? Of course not. I think you're talking out of your ass. And please, never again attempt to argue that Seabrook is better than Subban. You're just making yourself look bad. He's not the player he was at the 2010 olympics (neither is Weber).
Let me explain my pairings. I thought they would be pretty obvious, but I guess not. I made these pairings while keeping in mind that they will be playing on an international ice surface, where mobility, speed, etc. are valued more than physical play.
Letang (offensive D) - Subban (two-way D)
Keith (offensive D) - Doughty (two-way D)
Pietrangelo (offensive D) - Weber (defensive D)
Three balanced pairings with the best-skating top-4 D at the Olympics. Keith and Doughty are reunited. They could arguably be the first pairing over Subban and Letang, depending on how each player performs at the start of next season. |

That Shea Weber fella is the best d-man in the NHL that hasn't won a Norris. And he was Canada's best d-man in the Olympics. Absolutely shocked Spezza didn't get an invite. Rather have him than Thornton. - Smurfs-A-Joke
keith and doughty were Canada's best dmen in the Olympics.

there is ZERO chance subban gets picked ahead of weber. shea is a lock, and PK is on the bubble. id probably take PK though |
