The rangers can't fit Vanek & Hodgson under the cap anyways
Hence, horrible off to even go back & forth about
And we'll just have to agree to disagree about Stephan vs Hodgson
Keep in mind, Hodgson played against better competition on the top line then Stephan did on the 2nd line
And while Hodgson clearly needs work in his own end, he works with Roberts in the offseason & I can't think of a better guy to help him improve in that area
If u wanna say Stephan is better than Hodgson,
U can make a good argument...
But "MUCH" better?
That's just not true
And Hodgson has a higher ceiling than Stephan IMO... There is a reason Hodgson got picked 10th and Stephan towards the end of the 2nd

At half salary they probably could. Just cuz Hodgson was drafted higher doesn't mean that a) he has a higher ceiling b) that he'll reach it and be better than stepan. And Gary Roberts only does strength and conditioning, he can't help Hodgson be better defensively. Fair point about Hodgsons competition though. I personally like stepan more but to each his own. |

And for the record I'd love Kreider and Stepan on this team. We're gonna lose Vanek anyways and although I like Hodgson, Stepan and Kreider would look good as part of our new core and rebuild. Just my opinion. |

I would love Stepan as well. I would be willing to give up Hodgson for him, but I don't think that is a popular opinion. |
