Stepan and Kreider for Hodgson and Vanek

Stafford and Adam for Wheeler

- JVince11

I dunno Stepan is really good and Kreider has a lot of potential. Would set us up nicely for the future.

Man that's not fair

I really think Kreider is going to be a good one some day. Considering Vanek wants out I'd say a future #1 C and LW is a pretty good return.

The way I see it:

Stepan>Hodgson

Kreider could one day = Vanek (in terms of replacing his scoring). It does also make us a faster team.

I would need more.

Draft pick, prospect, ummm...Ryan Calah...er, uh, I mean, uh, yeah.

Anyway. Stepan > Hodge, but really by how much?

And I'm giving you (the Rangers) a sure-fire 30 goal scorer for a guy that might be good someday.

Like I said, I would need more.

I'd personally say a lot. Much better in his own end and a way better skater. I guess it really comes down to what you think of Stepan and Kreider. Personally I'd do it because both players are young but have accomplished something at the NHL level.

Future top six would include Kreider,Stepan,Armia,Grigorenko,Ennis, this years 1st?

It would set us up nicely.

I am hoping that Girgensons is a top 6 forward... either as a winger or a 2C.

That's fair, but my point still stands. We all want this team to get younger and faster and that deal would do that

He was brought in to help Myers confidence. Playing with someone you know and won a calder with helps. So I am failing to see where I am in the wrong here.

But keep up the good work !

- Beezer33

He is no lock to be the top 2 pair. If he is paired with Myers, based on last season, they are the last pair. Both sucked.

Tallinder was nearly as bad as Myers, I peg him at the 7th d-man.

Your assumptions don't make you 'right' or 'wrong'.

If you listen to Yost, you are wrong because Sekera and Myers have more than 10% better puck possesion than Tallinder and Myers

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Miller coming off an injury that sidelined him for quite a while? Now I do remember his play was stellar leading up to the olympics that year, and should he have made it? Yes. However, those three goalies, DiPietro especially, had played very well up to that point (they were awful in the olympics). I wouldn't mark it as a slight against Miller so much as it was a cautious move. In hindsight, yes, the GM made a poor decision. However, at the time it is hard to argue against the move to bring in 3 goalies that are sure to be 100% healthy. Again, I believed at the time Miller should have been the goalie, however, you can't blame the GM for wanting players he knew were healthy.
- RabidEmu319

I was looking for someone to mention that. I believe he had a broken hand or something and barely played for a stretch.

I ain't gonna lie to you....

I would trade every player on this team for the right deal in exception of Girgensons and Zadorov.

I am not saying Myers will be on the top d line. i pegged him as on top 4 (idk if you saw that or not). No assumptions here. Yes they were both bad. together is only time both of them really excelled. if that theory proves true again they both pair up on top 4 pairing. doesnt that make sense if they stay paired together?

Players suck for one season and you put them on last line because it must be impossible to come back from a bad year? Nice coaching idea. I guess well just agree to disagree on this topic. I see where youre coming from, but I just dont think they both can get worse...at least i hope not

Not really a numbers guy..too many factors can come into play that the numbers dont show. But we shall see

Fixed

Meh, I'm not as attached to Girgensons as most. If the right deal came along I'd consider trading him as well. I'd say the only untouchables at this point are our most recent draft picks.

Last 2 years of first round picks are untouchables at this point IMO. Fits that Darcy is rebuilding and needs them.

Any trade with the NYR should include Callahan, especially if your giving up the remains of the #1 line.

Doubt they trade their captain if they plan on being competitive. He'll probably be re-signed to a Dustin Brown kind of deal.

I like both Sabres offers mentioned there, what do you think?

- Sabresfan-365

Vanek AND Hodgson
For
Stephan and Kreider

Hahahahahahahaha
HELL NO!

I wouldn't trade Vanek for those two, let alone throw in Hodgson

That girl is out of her mind
Especially thinking that Stephan is a significant upgrade on Hodgson
I'd MUCH rather have Hodgson

And how would the NYR even fit them under the cap?

1. Haha I don't think she's out of her mind, a bit of a nutbag when we were kids but she's alright . 2. Sorry dude no way we get stepan and kreider for vanek alone. 3. Stepan is that much better than Hodgson. Better skater better hands and better defensively.

The rangers can't fit Vanek & Hodgson under the cap anyways
Hence, horrible offer to even go back & forth about

And we'll just have to agree to disagree about Stephan vs Hodgson
Keep in mind, Hodgson played against better competition on the top line then Stephan did on the 2nd line
And while Hodgson clearly needs work in his own end, he works with Roberts in the offseason & I can't think of a better guy to help him improve in that area

If u wanna say Stephan is better than Hodgson,
U can make a good argument...
But "MUCH" better?
That's just not true

And Hodgson has a higher ceiling than Stephan IMO... There is a reason Hodgson got picked 10th and Stephan towards the end of the 2nd
