http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=55070 Many hemsky haters are going to hate me for doing this. Click the link and you'll see his career states. Now i'll grant you this his last three seasons have not been very good. Having said that he's put up way more point then people think and he had a 70 point season on a sub par team. Also his best years were under MacT. You will notice a slide in his numbers the year after MacT left. Leads me to believe that MacT new how to use hemsky and the coaches sense have not used him right. Either that or hemsky plays better for a hard ass coach. So having said that i'm interested to see how he does under eakins asuming of course he's still here. Now normaly i'm not a states guy i don't ram states down peoples throats. However the hate on hemsky is bull. Now i'll agree with people when they say there must be some reaons no one wants to trade for him. And i think the answer to that is just plan ans simple the oilers are looking at his states and dispite the last three year, he's put up very good numbers for the most part and the oilers are just asking to much for him. Maybe his best years are behind him and thats possible for sure and may be even likely however the reasonable hockey fan, who takes a look at states will tell you hemsky is a good player. SO in my opinion i'd keep him and see how things go. At worst he leave at the end of the year, at best he gos a rippin puts up points and helps the oilers make the playoffs or gets dealt for a good return at the deadline at this point he's more valuable to the team then giving him away would be. Just my opinion though.
PS for the 2013 season i'm counting the point he had over in the check as well so he has a total of 58 for the season some may not like that but that was his year.

I was all about Buffalo pulling the trigger on a trade for him... 3 years ago... Heck even 2 years ago, but I think that it is best if we stay away from bringing anyone like him now. At one point someone must have offered something fair and it got turned down. I am nervous that this is what will happen with Vanek and Miller. the main difference in these situations is obviously that Vanek/Miller will be UFA at the end of season so it's even less likely to get a serious offer for them unless someone wants Vanek at the deadline. I will say this though, if Nashville will give up a 1st for Gaustad there must be someone out there who will do the same for Hemsky.

Honestly I dont see why he would offer this trade. Myers is the stud of this trade, Stafford and Parenteau are almost washes, but PA had the chance to pad points with Tavares and Duchene, Stafford really hasnt had a slick centre to play with. So the Avs get the 2 best players and throw in one decent player and 2 throw ins.

Would love it but it just seems weird without throwing out a centre your way. Swap Tanguay with O'Reilly/Stastny then we might be getting closer

- DDM-Coga

PA and Stafford are a wash? You're seriously missing the the sarcasm emoticon here...

It's just a weird ass trade that I have a hard time seeing Buffalo go for let alone offer. I don't see Colorado offering it either to be honest.

Myers is a serious coin toss and has a massive contract, I'd rather keep my under paid 70 point winger thanks. How many wingers with his scoring record the last few years make anywhere near 4M? Not many...

The deal just makes zero sense, so what we play Stastny at RW and O'Reilly at left on the first line?

We're already weak at RW so the team offers up our best RW instead of a center, leaving us with Downie and Stafford on the right side? Uh... no I'd rather not get (frank)ed over sending out good value for another once highly touted project blue-liner. At least last time he didn't come with a ridiculous contract attached.

Soooooo a guy that knows nothing about hockey making trade proposals to a guy with great knowledge and arguably one of the best writers on HB??? Sounds like comedy to me. Like watching a midget wrestler take on the Rock.

I think he can get a 2nd and a B prospect or a role 3rd line winger and a mid pick.

I suggested Steve Bernier+3rd. I'd also package Hemsky for Eric Fehr. I think MacT is holding out for the right offer. We have to remember Horcoff got a 7th rounder and a #6D, I think people will be surprised by what EDM gets for Hemmer

as true as those descriptions are, I'd say Clouts is currently winning the trade wars

I will take your word for it as disputing it would require some objectivity on my part, and that would mean I would have to read his blogs, which is kinda like someone with no education selling body by vi giving a lecture on nutrition.

Wow Canada's camp roster is stacked at forward. The D is pretty good too, surprised Ward didn't get an invite! Here's what I think the line up could look like http://johanneshockey.wee.../2013/07/team-canada.html

I have a hard time seeing Richards and Getzlaf being left off the team because they already have Olympic experience, especially Richards.

These trade wars blogs are just horrible. You're the Oilers blogger. Why not write something relevant about the Oilers. I've been coming on this site less and less cause you just seem to get worse all the time Cloutier. I find myself reading a lot of other guys stuff even from different teams cause this stuff is just garbage. Why a good blogger like Yost has anything to do with you is beyond me. I don't know how much more of this I can take.

So many good centers on this team. Canada is gonna sitting pretty in the faceoff circle. Goaltending is definitely the weak spot on this team.

Richards aint on the team unless he tears the first half/

getzlaf is a different story. he was the tough one to leave off for me. maybe 13th forward, or maybe instead of Duchene or nash. but both players skating is far superior to ryans, and babcock talked about this on the big ice.

Bryzgalov Not Invited to Russian Oly Camp

He should be the starter!

This will drive down his asking price to where MacT can afford him as 1B

At first read, I jumped at the trade to get Tyler Myers, but after thinking about it, Colorado can't afford to give up an experienced point producing winger like Parenteau. Dutchy needs a solid winger, and they can afford to give up a centerman and D prospect.

I'd hope that if COL trades w/ BUF, It'd be more like :
to COL = Miller + Myers
to BUF = Varlamov, O'Reilly, Elliott +

Maybe we'd have to throw in another minor league prospect or draft pick, but it would address 2 concerns for our roster.

u get the 2 best players in the deal??
plus they got enroth that's gonna take millers spot. so I doubt theyre looking at another goalie as one of the value pieces coming back if you get my meaning.
and they have a glut of decent young defenders. that's the only reason theyd be considering moving myers.

ror is a decent start though. maybe downie and siemens as well?
