Plus he has another year of maturity plus he supposed to be healthy after off season surgery, I think that's what he did. Last year wasn't he dealing with a problem for most of the year. Also Sweden generally has a solid d at world events so he's obviously a good player maybe he and dion will mesh very well this year

Hes average not a superstar rob scuderi or some poop. Im not a huge gunner fan, I liked him in his first year because he shut down everyone and was beast. Now hes meh to me. The boston series showed how weakhe was ddespite his injury

All this stupid talk of trading reimer is not happening. Having 2 really good goalies is good to have. If we have a problem then with both commandingmoney then we deal with tthat later. We have 2 good goalies who can share the duties. Id rather have 2 very good goalies signed to 6Mtogether or more than paying 1 goalie 6M plus add another salary bc of tthe backup which u would want a decent one so there's like 1.5-2M so ur easily spending 8M+ for that. So lets say both are good and sign both for 4M each eventually long term or something. Its same poop in end. Its a good problem to have but im not saying they get 4M each just a scenario but itd be smart to lock up both eventually

Well we might as well trade phaneuf since no (frank)ing defender can play with him, its same poop every year. Gunner was terrible this year with phaneuf and got merked in boston series yet everyone is so attached to him when we have higher calibre guys in franson and gardiner. They might not be stay home defenders but are the better player to have on team. Gunner is not suitable for phaneuf. Phaneuf is like the shea weber or duncan keith. He needs a guy like suter or seabrook to make him look amazing. Gunner is far from that. Gunner doesnt even equal scuderi, heck od take volchenkov over gunner because he lays his body on the line every game.

If rielly was ready and legit, to be the next superstar, he would probably be the best project to compliment phaneuf. But he needs to develop. So that idea is for future

Gunnar was not terrible. That's a ridiculous statement. He played hurt in a compressed schedule, he played all the tough minutes with a guy who takes a lot of chances.

Gunnarsson was going to be a UFA next summer so they got his last RFA year plus 2 UFA years. If he had even a decent year next year he'd get 3.5+ on the open market. This is a good solid deal for the Leafs.

Fraser is next b/c of arbitration - I'm guessing 2 years at 1.2 per year.

Franson is going to be tougher - the Leafs want a 1 year deal to keep him in RFAgency and to give him another year to prove what he can do.
