Team Canada? Too many right handed defense?

Nash-Crosby-Giroux
E.Staal-Stamkos-St.Louis
Toews-Getzlaf-Perry
Taveres-Bergeron-Sharp
Richards
Benn

Keith-Seabrooke
Weber-Doughty
Girardi- Pietrangelo
Letang
Subban

Luongo
Price
Crawford

- dingo8urbaby

That first line wouldn't work at all, Crosby and G hate each other
methinks The 1b line will be Stamkos - Giroux - St Louis.
Oh and Subban > Seabrook

I became a hockey fan early. I remember watching the NHL on NBC on Sundays. I was a Black Hawks and Bruins fan because they were on all the time. I discovered the Flyers after the second Cup win. I was ten when I realized Philly was considered my home team. By 15, in 1980, I was charting games in a spiral notebook. Those are my clearest memories of following the Flyers. I went to my first game in 1980: a 4-4 tie against the Hawks.

My favourite era was the Keenan era. The runs in 1985, 1987 and 1989 were tremendous. By 1989 I was going to games regularly. I became a season ticket holder in 1990. Last season I gave up my tickets and for the first time since 1980 I didn't attend a single game.

I must be the newest Flyers-fan on this board. I got on board the bandwagon during the 2009-2010 season and I'm sure you know why. But wait, there's more to it. I moved to Philly from Sweden (for work) 2009 and was somewhat of a hockey fan since that's what we do in Sweden in the winter (summer is all about 'soccer'). Due to the time difference it's kind of difficult to follow NHL (and some people are complaining about watching west coast games ) so I never had a favorite NHL team. But of course by living in Philly the Flyers were the obvious choice. So if I'm going to pick my favorite Flyers team, I must pick the 2011-12 version, it was so much fun to follow. Flyers - Pens QF was just awesome.

Thanks Bill! First game in '69. Was there for the Barry Gibbs goal; saw the Dornhoeffer goal; saw them beat the tar of of Barry Cummins after he whacked Clarkie and saw them hoist the Cup. I can go and on... Lindros and Howe were great players but Barber, Parent and Clarke are my favorites. Loved the '87 team and the '04 team but the '74 team was my favorite. You haven't lived until you've seen a Cup. Greatest save: Parent on Hodge in game 6 Final. Greatest goal: Clarke OT in game 2 Final.

My dad was a Habs fan until he was 12. Then he saw Clarke play for Canada at 72 summit series and has been a Full Flyers fan ever since. So I (like a lot of guys my age) enharited the Flyers when I was born. But my first real Flyers memory would be around 1995 losing out to the Devils, thought for sure Lindros was gonna win us a cup that year. Favourite Flyers team of all time was either 2004 or 2010. Love to imagine if we woulda had guys like Pronger, Timonen, Briere and Lappy on that 04 team

I was born in Terrace BC Canada in 1972. My mom, sister and brother were all born in Smithers. My mom would tell me stories of how she knew the Watsons from their local farmer's market. I remained a fan of theirs ever since. One of the earliest photos of me when i was a kid, I was 3 years old wearing a red Flyers Bobby Clarke shirt. he was my childhood hero.

Living in norhtern BC we didn't get to watch many Flyers games unless they played the Canucks or were on HNIC. My brother became a Canucks fan. My dad was born in Edmonton and he always cheered for the Oilers. Those cup finals in 80's were bittersweet for me!

Only 3 people form Terrace that I know of have gone on to play in the NHL briefly. One even played for the Flyers for a handful of games - Dale Kushner.
Other 2 players from Terrace were Jeff Sharples (Detroit RedWings) and probably the most well known because of his surprising playoff showing in goal on year was Wade Flaherty.
Terrace BC also won Kraft Hockeyville in 2009. I met many former NHLers (Dave Babych, Clifford Ronning, Ken Morrow, Ryan Walter, and Bryan Trottier)and had my picture taken with the Stanley Cup.

OK, I guess I'm the senior citizen here. I was on board at day 1. I remember they started out on a west coast road trip in their inaugural season and I had trouble finding any information about those first two games until late the following day after they were played. I remember their first win, it was the 3rd game they played in St. Louis, 2-1 victory, Ed Hoekstra game winner. Broadcasted on channel 48 with Captain Philadelphia, Stu Nahan, doing the play by play. I still think he called a more exciting game than Gene Hart but I know I'm in the minority there.

Favorite era was probably the mid 80's with Poulin, Kerr, Lindbergh, Howe, etc. Pelle was the best, I wish he had a chance to complete his career. Thanks Bill.

Some of my fondest memories of the 70's Broad st. Bully era as a toddler was observing my Dad sitting in our dank basement inches from the screen of our old 19" Zenith sipping his Pabst Blue Ribbon and smoking Vantage cigarettes. Just the sound of Gene Hart's voice taps into a slew of dormant memories of that time frame. He credits Gene for teaching him the game with his insight. When they scored he'd yell "score" at the top of his lungs. It wasn't until I got a little older during the Keenen years and beyond that I understood and got sucked into the obsession. To this day its still something we share a kinship with.

I became a Flyers fan on October 12, 1993 after watching the Flyers beat Buffalo 5-3 in a game that was televised in New Zealand by ESPN International. I had only started watching hockey the season before, and Philadelphia seemed like a exciting team with a great young player and, importantly, they were not already one of the top teams in the league so I could never be accused of bandwagoning. All the phony Dallas Cowboy and Chicago Bulls fans at my high school really put me off the idea of just supporting whoever had won the most recent championship.

Being from the Windsor, Ontaro there was a lot of buzz around here during the Stanley Cup Final in 1997 for the Red Wings and Flyers. I would also say Paul Coffey had a helping hand as to why I'm a Flyers fan today. He was a pretty big deal as a Red Wing, traded to Hartford along with Keith Primeau for Brendan Shanahan at the 97 trade deadline. So basically after the final and being more familiar with the Flyers, they managed to pick up Paul Coffey, so you could say I followed Coffey to Philly. You could also imagine my excitement when Primeau was traded here for Rod Brind'amour. The reason I stayed interested in the Flyers was simple, the Legion of Doom. Who didn't know who they were? I was about 14 when I became a Flyers fan without zero push or pressure from anyone. Strictly my choice in an area who obsess over the Wings, Leafs and Habs.

I have never seen a game in Philadelphia. I went to see my first game March 12 2002 at the ACC in Toronto. Jeremy Roenick, Mark Recchi, John LeClair, Keith Primeau, Rick Tocchet, Simon Gagne, Eric Desgardins, Justin Willams, Brian Boucher were all there and Bill Barbar was coaching. It ended in a 1-1 tie. John LeClair scored the lone goal for us and Gary Roberts the tying goal in the dying moments of the game. I've never missed the Flyers in Detroit since the last lockout before the season's lockout. I've even gone to two games alone. I also saw Mike Richards score his first two man shorthanded goal at the ACC. I've also managed to see a number of London, Ontario preseason games, which means the world to me. 12 Flyers games total since 2002. Fan since I was 14 and I'm 31 one now....
