Clowe-Elias-Ryder could be a decent first line.
- flyerdude17

we have 5 centers and lack of top 9 wingers.. again. No way Elias becomes the 6th center.

No chance Elias plays center with our depth there. But that was suppose to be 2/3s of our 2nd line

Also with the dollars spent on Clowe and Ryder they have to be top six or else they are grossly overpaid. Jagr will help any power play so lets hope he signs for one year.
- flyerdude17

Our best option at this point would be to go with 3 "2nd lines" and just hope our depth gets us enough scoring. We don't have a top scoring threat and we won't be able to get one either.

I wouldn't disagree, I just put them like that because I think Jagr would be too slow to keep up with Henrique and Teddy/Olesz
- bobert836

If we can get Brunner and Jagr, I would actually want Jagr on our 3rd line and be a PP specialist that adds some scoring depth 5 on 5. Like people have said he's old and slowing down, but if we can monitor his minutes, he'll still be effective throughout the season.

Brunner can thank Zetterberg and Datsyuk for most of his points, if he was that good the Wings would have retained him. Be prepared for a bust if you sign him.
- flyerdude17

I don't think that's really fair. I think he sort of priced himself out and the wings saw better, more proven options rather than give him a multi-year deal. I watched a couple wings games and while he didn't really create tons of chances himself, not many players do, even top 6 forwards. He has a quick, accurate shot and decent speed. He's small and a bit soft, but I don't think he'll be a bust. The devils created a lot of chances last year, we just needed people that could actually finish them. I think he could fit that role very well.

I just think Lou is going to leave that one roster spot open for Tedenby/Olesz to prove themselves. I have a feeling Brunner out priced himself in Lou's books and he decided to go to Jagr. It's what makes sense to me, because they would be signed for the same job really(being a top 6 RW)

I think that was the original plan and could still be the plan, but I don't think we can afford to take a chance on them claiming that spot. We need 3 scoring lines and I think its a huge risk to hope Teddy or Olesz become scoring threats.

Olesz was a proven NHLer in Florida, but was pretty much a cap casualty when he got to Chicago, so I would think its more of a try out for Teds. And if all else fails, theres always original JJ

Hey guys i was wondering if you guys do sign Jagr... that means you'll have 14 NHL FW, and Henrique still unsigned
This would leave u with....
(i know these lines arent official, just going by depth, really)
Elias-Zajac-Ryder
Clowe-Henrique-Jagr
Zubrus-Loki-Olesz
then 4th line you got Bernier, Barch, Carter, Josefson, Tedenby, Gionta
What 4 FW make that cut? Just curious. You got a poopload of FW if Jagr signs lol.

- FLYERSROCK!

It'll be interesting.

If I had to guess, it would be Gionta. Only guy on a two-way deal, only way around it is if Olesz just completely crashes and burns or the same with Tedenby or Josefson. Everyone on the team now has to pass through waivers, I think the Devils will be reluctant to take the chance with Josefson or Tedenby, as both are almost a guarantee to be claimed. Gionta probably will too. I would put Bernier over Olesz and I would say Bernier is a lock for the team as well as Carter.

We really have to decide between Gionta, Barch, Tedenby, and Josefson. The latter two will easily be claimed. Barch is (somewhat) useful for his fighting. Gionta is a very good fourth liner, but he's a better center and he is somewhat expendable. It will be interesting, that's for sure.

The thing that concerns me with Olesz is that its been a while since he's been an NHLer and was never really much of a producer anyway. I don't mind him as a 13th forward but I'm not terribly confident in him holding down a top 9 spot.

I think Josefson can technically still be sent down. Not positive though.

He can be. I was just looking into that. Tedenby just lost his eligibility to go down without waivers as of this upcoming season.

If he returns to the form he was in when he was in Florida I think he could fit in on the 3rd line. He was potting 10+ goals and 25+ points, granted probably with more playing time, but those are still decent numbers.

Either way, I still hope Tedenby can lock down the spot. our team could definitely use a guy with his skill

this forum has really become quite the family. Todd has been a great addition to the Devils cluster of gentlemen and chums. I feel like i've come to "know" a handful of you, as it's been years of the same people on this site talking about Devils hockey. I almost want to know what you people look like, but then you'd no longer be Adam Larsson, or the Pomegrant/Mr. Toast with the symbol that i'm ignorant of what it is.. or _Zippy_ who just chooses to be simply _Zippy_ .. and shvingter88.. with his crazy David Clarkson face lol. Bobert the bat mobile, dmarsden, Rseen, and Manny has been a frequent face this year. Then the other guys. . blizzzard, the Devils fans from Florida, xnightwish etc. Just the bunch of us coming on here and ranting about such a meaningless, yet passionate topics. It's been good.

Tedenby finding his form would be huge for the team, both for the present and future.

I love Tedenby, and hope he finds his "jam". I want 30 points, and for him to be a positive player.

I wonder how Tedenby-Loktionov-Jagr would perform.

I think people rarely disagree with you mostly because you're the face of Larsson, and have been that face for.. 3 summers now. Your points and consistent writing style only play a small part in that.
