They used to say Wayne Gretzky could never be traded, ever... but alas, here we are.

Nothing is ever untouchable... everything has a price.

I know that is true but yzerman loves 1st and 2nd round picks and really values high draft picks.

Oh no doubt on that one, and he's done great with them.

However, if come trade deadline time and we're in the hunt for a playoff berth (and Salo is injured as he usually is, throughout his career) why not swing a deal for a #4 D-man?

Just like 2011, once you make it to the playoffs... you never know what can happen...

We're going 40-30-12 this season. 92 points, and squeak into the playoffs.

Drouin amasses 46 points mainly playing with Fillpula and Killorn by season's end.

Stammer finally breaks the 100 point mark (51 goals).

St. Louis with 87 pts.

Lindback surprises everyone and wrestles the starting job from Bishop.

Gudas is #3 in hits in the league.

Malone is traded out West with a 2nd rounder for a D-man.

Purcell has a rough year (40 points).

Carle puts up respectable numbers (40+ range, + side of the margin).

Salo is hurt by Christmas and will retire by seasons end.

Cooper finishes 4th in Jack Adams voting.

Victor Hedman goes to the next level, reaching the 10 goal, 40 point mark and leads the team with ToI.

Tom Pyatt is waived.

Connolly, Johnson and Panik become a line by the end of the season, much to (everyone who is NOT a Lightning fan's) chagrin.

Let's check back on this next spring and see how badly I did.

we finish 43-29-10, 96 points
we finish 4th in our division (atlantic), but have more points than the guys in "metropoliton"? so we make the playoffs

drouin starts the season like a (frank)ing champion and finishes like one too. earns himself 50 points in his first season (15 goals 35 assists). he starts out a 2nd liner but shames cooper into putting him on the top line along stamkos and marty.

stamkos greatly benefits from having marty and drouin on his line and puts up 65 goals.

stamkos claims rocket richard + art ross. drouin claims calder and makes a massive statement to what kind of game hes here to play and size means nothing.

drouin learns from marty and plays just like him, marty will mentor him all year

we win the 1st round of the playoffs in 6 games because we are young and fired up and pumped up to play in our first playoffs in 3 years. stamkos is (frank)ing jacked to be in the playoffs again and puts up 8 goals in 6 games.

we lose in the 2nd round due to youth, inexperience. we are outhit and outplayed by a team bigger and more experienced

Seeing as we have NO USA representatives, I'll most likely cheer for Canada unless we get some strong guys going to Russia, Finland or Sweden.

Yeah but the reality is if u wanna be on an Olympic team you really have to be in the higher class of the nhl ... Stammer St. Louis .: so we have any elite USA guys? ... Not sure about that .. Not dissing Americans I'm just saying we don't have elite ones on our team

Meh. Doesn't bother me at all. Vasilevski doesn't have the pro experience. Koshechkin has lit up the KHL over the last few years.
