The jabs at Canadian hockey would concern me if the best players on every team except Vancouver and Washington weren't Canadian. |

Bergeron has an argument, but Karlsson is by far the best player on Ottawa. |

He's a great player. But Chara's a Norris winner (multiple???) and the captain. To me, a true #1 defenseman like him is more important to a team that a guy liek Bergeron, great as he is. |

I'm not gonna get real deep comparing apples and Oranges, but Spezza is a great player and is their only legitimate #1 centre. Spezza has been a great player for far longer than Karlsson. |

It's just so strange. They have the Pacific, Atlantic, Central and then "The Metropolitan"
Ummm... Something here is not like the others.
The most mind numbing thing is there are no former Atlantic teams in the new Atlantic division. How dumb is that?

That's the part that I find the strangest. I feel like the Metropolitan Division might as well just be called the New York City & Friends Division. |

So not one team in the old Atlantic is in the new Atlantic, and there is a new metrosexual division? Uneven conferences that gives playoff contenders in the west a much better % of making it?
The NHL just doesn't get it. |

That won't last long. Expansion will fill that out.

That's funny. I was thinking the same thing. New York and "others" division was my thought.
Can anybody tell me what's wrong with something like the "Mid-East"? Or better yet, Let the teams that comprised the old Atlantic keep their name and give that new bastardized division the metro-sexual name.
This new playoff format is set in stone for only 3 years. I can see the Metropolitan name dying along with the new crappy playoff system. Let's hope! |

The division name is pretty lame, but the playoff format change is the real mistake in all of this, IMO. |
