Read-Couturier-Jake/Jagr is not a first line..its a good responsible checking line.
Personally I would swap Voracek and Jagr |

I don't know the numbers, but I'd say about 2/3rds of his Ks are on 0-2 counts. It seems like it's a K every single time when he falls behind 0-2.
Even more than that- I bet probably most if not ALL of his Ks come on 2 strike counts! What a (frank)in scrub.... |

Where are you cutting oh say the 5.5 mil needed to get us under the cap and get Jagr?
For the record as much as I enjoyed Jagr while he was here bringing him back on the top line only hinders Jakes growth. And Jagr is basically useless anywhere else in the lineup... |

if lava spreads giroux-vinny-jake throughout the three lines they will never be stopped |

Gagne would slide into 3rd line roll much more swimmingly.
Keep the Gingervitus line intact as well as a solid 2-way 3rd line: Gagne, Couturier, Read.
Plus, the Flyers could move Gagne or Reed up and down the line up in case of injuries. Easier to replace a 3rd & 4th line slot with some of their Phantoms.
Jagr "needs" to play on 1st or 2nd line to be effective. Limits options. |

Yes to Jags means Bags for Gags. - Moose_15
Did I miss something? Why would we take on Jagr now? We're full at RW. He's terribly slow. He has little to no defensive game. I have no doubt if he signs anywhere at all, he's done in a year. I didn't think Jagr looked impressive in the playoffs, I thought he looked like someone everyone in the league should say no to. He reminds me of Mark Messier in his final years, just refusing to let go. |

A little earlier there was a report that the Flyers were interested in Jagr.
I like Jagr, but do not see a roll on this team for him.
At this point, I'd much rather have Gagne on the 3rd line. |

if we're being serious, i agree
just thought it would be cool to think about w/ jagr in the mix. spreading the wealth (and consolidating when the game situation dictates) could be a pretty effective strategy, imo. if, ya know, this all wasn't just fantasyland stuff |

Now this I agree with. I like Jagr too but he's a one dimensional player. If he's not playing in the top six, he's useless. Even playing on a scoring line though, he holds back someone much younger whether they're 20 something or thirty something. |

I won't say Gagne is a better player then Jagr. I'll just say Gagne is a more balanced player then Jagr and a better fit to the Flyers right now. |

yeah. i dont really think you guys have a pressing need for jags anymore. the addition of vinny, a healthy hartnell, and just internal growth should provide adequate scoring depth. |

exactly. jags definitely still has more raw skill, but i think gags would bring more things to the table that you guys need, and wouldnt be out of place on a bottom six, defensive themed role. not to mention like 3 mil cheaper |

Gagne's 40 goal seasons could very much be a thing of the past but he still fits anywhere on all four lines. I didn't think Gagne looked great with Giroux and Voracek nearing the end of the season but I did think he looked good. I thought Laviolette was well within his rights to take Hartnell off the top line. |
