I remember that game vividly. It was the game where I ended up telling a guy in the next row that I felt sorry that he was fat and old and no one loved him.

Yea I like Old City a lot myself but not a club-bar guy. Just like some of the more laid back bars around there to grab some beers amongst some other things.

But like I said you gotta know that. First time I went to Philly I thought it was like NYC, where you can just wander around. I got off at 69th street station

Honestly I much prefer Manhattan to Philly. Not the sports, but the actual city is much more fun.

If you can't find something fun to do in NYC, it's kind of your own fault.

Not a big fan. Too crowded. Too much constant construction. I love the intimacy of Philly.

I went to the last Philly Rangers game last season and sat up in the nose bleeders. I looked down and saw some fat old rich looking guy sitting 3 rows up from the ice, literally hunching over in his seat, resting his cheek on his fist, staring off at the cement stairs next to him. Not watching the game at all, just spaced out looking at the stairs. I was like, really? I'd kill for seats like that and he couldn't care less.

I was coming back from Drexel Hill and somehow how lost smack dab in the middle of the ghetto. My goal was simple: drive straight, look straight ahead, avoid eye contact, and treat all red lights/stop signs as optional.

I have a friend that goes to Cabrini which heading west on rt 30 about a half hour...in the suburbs.

Well, we picked up Lancaster ave around 46th street....it's unbelievable. It's like a switch was flipped.

Fine....fine....fine.....then 53rd street comes up and ROLL EM UP. People walking around with "limps".....

We passed a "dry cleaner"- it was all decrepit and beat up....paint flaking off and poop- The Cleaners. Spelled The Kleeners

Then we got to a Jaguar and a BMW dealership just outside of 69th...suddenly there was trees and grass. It's nuts how that poop just ends and starts boom like that.

The 40s aren't bad anymore.

I go to school in the 40s. It's cleaned up nicely, actually. I'd say the cutoff is around 49th street.

I live on 46th and Chester not a bad area at all.

Temple is an oasis. Really nice campus smack dab in the middle of the slum.

My friend saw a crack deal under his dorm window right on the "outskirts" of campus. Nice.

You go north of Temple man....yikes. That's trashcan fire territory

Scenario.

Flyers can't trade Mez so they waive Hall, Rosehill and Gervais the day before the season.

Pronger goes on LTIR. The Flyers cap is now app $64 + $4.97 = app $69 million.

Week 3 Mez gets injured. Cap stays at $69 million, but Mez's salary, while out, doesn't count towards the cap?

Do I have that right?

- jstross

No, there is no such thing as a players salary not counting against the Cap due to injury. And those moves would have to be made at the ned of training camp, not the day before the Season.

Correct. You can use the LTIR savings to make it work though.

To me your comparing apples to oranges. I don't get why they get compared. There as some days I'd rather go to NYC for what it offers and others I'd rather be in Philly. Two totally different things IMO.
