If players are going to leave their teams at the.end of their contracts, & the gm knows, how come there isnt much sign & trades in the nhl. It would make perfect sense. A resigned vanek would fetch a ton if he waz reupped. Miller too.Is there some type ofclause that does not allow teams to do that? Good way to do it. I actually would like to keep vanek, but if wants out think hell b a stand up guy & sign n trade? 7 years 7 per. Bit overpaid but not crazy. Right up there with parise. & i think vanek is the better player. Wht ya guys think about sign n trade?

Your team has all the talent it needs, it was just not built the right way. A ton of your players have value and at least your GM managed to get some serious value for the players you traded away. If you can get a solid return for Miller and Vanek I think the rebuild should only take 2 years and you will be right back in it. The best teams know when to rebuild as early as possible to where they dont have to be that bad for too long, unlike calgary.

Buffalo will be fine. The D looks promising, now just to rework the offense.

I would trade Stastny straight up for Vanek but I think the Avs would see Vanek as only a short term fix and are hoping for a return that is better long term given where the team is at. So even if the player isn't as good as Vanek, if he is younger I think the avs go for that.

I think they need that pure goal scoring winger... Neal or not idk...

But mcginn, pareanteau, tanguay, downie, ror, and landeskog arent the kind of pure scorers

You win cups by building down the middle. While the avs could use a player like Neal I don't think it would make sense trading for him. Between Duchene-PA combo, Mackinnon and gabe we shouldn't need too much more scoring but we REALLY need to get a solid D.

Trading Johnson has to be out of the question at this point in time.

The Avs Offense could use more size and Neal's 2 way play has shown to be awful as of late. I love him to death but the Avs aren't the team that he will be going to imo.

For a players thats stats are grossly padded because he plays with Malkin/Crosby? Vanek could go to Pittsburgh and get 80-90pts easily if healthy.

Garth? Is that you? The guy isn't even a third liner yet, put up 17 points in 61 AHL not NHL games. Unless your "boy was I wrong" was to say he's not good enough, wait till he even produces at the AHL level.

Not ready for the NHL offensively IMO, would be a mistake to put him in if they ever want him to be more then a bottom 6 guy.

Chara makes just less than 7m... karlsson makes 6.5m per year... doughty makes 7m.. subban is about to be making close 6.5m.. suter makes close to 7.5m... keith and seabrooke make about 5.5m I think... piets is gonna make about 6m.. idk.. I'd take all of them over letang.. idk who else needs a big contract on defense but letangs will be up there for awhile..

I could see them doing better next year or until their D improves, however it will be easier for the Avs to put together a solid Defense than it will be for Buffalo to come close to the firepower on offense the Avs have. Also its tough to predict how things will turn out with the Avs new coach and the new Divisions.

His stats are inflated because of who he plays with. He will not have the same success when not playing with Malkin/Crosby.

He better give some of his salary to those 2 because he will get a massive pay day when he hits UFA.

Letang isn't better than any of them. He is an offensive defenseman that benefits from playing on such an offensively stacked team but he can't shut players down at all. He is pretty much the same as Keith but no he will never be worth close to what he makes.
