What did they do before they started sending nhl players to the olympics? Was it just random players from around europe or is it like soccer where it's strictly U-23 (or something like that). I figure option two would kill the WJC for that year no?

I was more interesting to me when it was the college kids playing for love of the game & country. I would love to see it go back to the way it was for all sports in the olympics.
