Phaneuf, Gunnarrsson and Colborne for Stastny, Barrie and a 2014 or 2015 2nd round draft pick


Phaneuf and Johnson as your top pairing with guys like Elliot, Siemens, Holos, Wilson and Bigras to fill out the remaining spots over time.

Colborne could be used as a great 3rd line C in the future for you guys. Big and learning how to use his body.

I think the Leafs would spread out the amount of time between our 3 pairings, or trade Bozak for a dman who can play top 4 minutes? Who knows. With the amount of defensive prospect depth the Leafs have I can see us promoting from within.
Stastny gives us our top-6 center to go with Kadri and Barrie gives us more depth to work with (considering we lost our captain and #1 dman).

Our "center" situation is actually in really good shape
I know majority opinion I that we need a "superstar" or at least a "#1"
But then I see names out there of guys we need to bring in...

I dont see the relevance of draft position....yes a higher chance of success but there are many top centers in the NHL that have been drafted in the second round or more.

Grigorenko and Girgensons are nobodies right now. Until they do something in the NHL who knows not to mention Girgensons will probably not even play center.
