For your "Olympic team considered by many" is who? Cam Ward over Mike Smith...never. PK Subban, Chris Letang and Kevin Bieksa are all better than Marc Staal and Brent Seabrook. On the forwards Jamie Benn, Patrice Bergeron, Eric Staal are big question marks. Tyler Seguin couldn't even stay on a Boston team. With forwards like Ryan Getzlaf, Jason Spetza, Taylor Hall, Matt Duchene, David Clarkson, Logan Couture, Mike Richards, Jeff Carter and Jordan Eberle, will certainly all be given the same consideration as anybody else. The only players that have a spot if they are healthy would be Sidney Crosby, Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Toews, and John Tavares. The rest is wide open.
- Woowy

I would agree completely if you said Bergeron had a spot guaranteed if he is healthy.

Kunitz could be a viable option. Has proven he can play with star players, plays with speed, and is an unbelievable forechecker. He is very under rated outside of Pittsburgh, where he is viewed as being sucessful because of who he plays with. The guy is a hell of a hockey player.

Americans are a huge threat with their goaltending and that D is impressive. but i think goals will be hard for them to come by against the top teams. they're too thin down the middle.
- DoubleDown

I hear ya, but it is unwise to underestimate the amount of effort that Americans can put in when their flag is on the line.

This

Kunitz is Crosby's right hand man as well. The two of them have an excellent understanding of each other and have developed great chemistry. Kunitz scores a lot of goals and creates more space for Crosby. He should make team Canada. St. Louis should go as well. His chemistry with Stamkos? And didn't St. Louis put up some points too?

So you must have seen Hall light up your team like a Christmas tree this year... Clearly a lock for the Olympic team.

certainly a helluva team. scary good.
and if you mean you think it's gonna mesh the best and quickest then you're completely entitled to your opinion.

but purely on paper, no team will be as deep or as good as Canada regardless of they choose on the final roster

Yeah, but you're not just assembling a group of the best players out there, you're assembling a team. Kuntiz brings that team mentality. I'm not saying he should play on the first line, but put him on the 3rd line with Toews and that line will be extremely tough to play against.

kunitz is a huge longshot. miniscule chance.
they don't need to pick crosbys running mate for scoring. they've got 10 superstars who are far superior scorers to kunitz.
they've got guys that are better defensively too.
kunitz doesn't belong on that team.
maybe a team Canada B or C

st.louis has a shot.

Also noticed the conspicuous absence of a power forward who used to play for the Flames and has been Crosby's linemate for some time with the Maple Leaf on their chests...

The only thing scary, and not in a good way, is Canada's goaltending situation.

I think it's overstated abit.

clearly we don't have the depth of finland or Sweden.
but we really only need 1.

and it's not like mike smith or carey price are unable to get the job done.
would I be more comfortable with pekka rinne? yes.
but we're still gonna have a world class goalie behind the best team on paper
