id only have st louis on the team if he plays with stamkos - my 2 cents - big_dion
Too many young guns in the league now to give st. louis a spot. They have enough experienced guys. Take Nash and st.louis out and replace with younger talent. |

I think Canada learned their lesson in 2006. They will go young and fast on the big ice. I doubt Nash, St Louis, Seguin, M Staal make it. Like it or not Hall will be on the team. Subban will as well. Duchesne is likely as well. |

im a homer for dutch, i have a man crush, but st.louis needs to be there 100% over any of these guys including dutch
A) veteran leadership
B) one of the best playmakers playing
C) won the freaking scoring title at 35+ (1/2 season or not)

The only reason Letang isn't a starter on team Canada will be because of injury. Same with Subban. You don't snub 2 Norris finalists (one winner) on an olympic team. Pietrangelo is probably deserving, but might be the odd man out solely due to his age. Staal should not even be there. |

Tyler Seguin over Taylor Hall? Definitely a Lames Fan. - 4040tee
I said the same. Hall or Eberle over Seguin everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. |

Firstly,
I am not sure why some think that Rick Nash is a question mark? The guy is in his prime and is a great to have due to his size and speed.
Can someone enlighten me as to why he is a questionable?
Secondly,
Hall over Seguin.

agree completely with this. got to move the puck, and move it quickly over there. Staal's game is not ideally suited to what Canada needs. |

I know this is a Canadian team blog, but no mention of the US team?? They will be stacked defensively and have the best goalie squad in the Olympics. Should be interesting:
Parise-Pavelski-Kane
van Riemsdyk-Stepan-Kessel
Pacioretty-Backes-Ryan
Brown-Callahan-Wheeler
Pominville
Stempniak
Suter-McDonagh
Yandle-Shattenkrik
Byfuglien-Martin
J. Johnson
Greene
T. Myers
Quick
Howard
Schneider
Miller

I will echo the general theme on this forum that Subban should be added to the roster and Seguin taken off of it.. |

I haven't been impressed by Nash in a couple years, and he didn't exactly stand out in NY this year.
I think an argument can be made for almost all the players we've collectively listed here to make the team, it will depend on who's hot near that time, and who's injured. If Seguin is lighting it up with Benn all year, or if Hall and Ebs and Nuge are the best line in hockey, then maybe they should go if other guys we think are 'locks' aren't playing all that well. (They're just examples, relax, I don't assume Nuge is making Team Canada this year) |

I left out the US team in addition to others because it didnt really relate to the Flames. Despite having a few Americans and Canadians, no Flames players will even get a call for either. Listed team Canada anyways cause, well, Im Canadian |
