I question the viability of a new Marriott in downtown Buffalo. It's not like people are coming there to vacation. Locals won't be able to afford to go there.
- Pierceme69

As a Canadian who likes to take advantage of the prices in Buffalo, I would be in favour of a Marriott there. Spend one day shopping stay the night and head off to a sabres game instead of doing 2 seperate trips.

Plus I'm guessing that's where the visiting team would stay.

My favorite is that he is competely wrong on most things....

"Girgensons never played center"

"I know becuz I've been going to amerk games for 30 years"

Well apparently he missed the end of this season when girg was center for larsson and in the playoffa

I am very entertained by him/her/it. Harmless and hilarious. But, bash him all you want. Also, very entertaining.

I don't see them dealing Hackett. They just acquired him and right now he is their starting goaltender in Rochester. If they deal him, they'd have Miller, Halak, and Enroth, all on one-way contracts. Enroth, the odd man out, would never clear waivers.
- Jawallstar1

That's why you then trade Miller for whatever you can get.

I hear what you're saying but building a hotel of that size is going to mean a ton of empty rooms. Especially in winter when no home hockey games are on tap.

Comes down to marketing and what else is goin on in the area. But you are probably right, and it will be a ghost town the in Jan/Feb with no hockey games on tap.

When the rinks get built and they host tournaments, they will need the hotel.

Zemgus is only. 19. Why have him develop playing 4th line minutes when he should play center in the AHL for more than a few games. Let him develop or dominate in the A and have his contract slide another year.

Miller and Vanek don't need to go to St Louis unless we get one of Tarasenko, rattie back to us. Oshie is their stafford. WE DONT NEED HALAK.

Ill hang up and listen

Ha ha. I took a vacation to Buffalo last week and stayed downtown. Would have used Marriott points if that was an option.

He's worth more
Since the last lockout he is 8th in the league in goals scored
He's one of the best in the league in front of the net, maybe the best
That said,
I want nothing to do w Stastny anyways
I'd rather have picks, prospects &/or young NHLers... That would make more sense for our "rebuild"

Explain why we would swap Miller for Halak? We just take on more salary?

Hahaha, thanks...
I don't wanna get a "rep" though

How about Stafford for Backes and a pick?
Now i fit right in
Hahaha

In all seriousness,
U guys prob have to trade Halak to make room to sign your RFAs right?
I'm sure there's a few teams out there that would give I a pick for him
NYI? Florida maybe?

Right. Even better when Vanek and Miller are packaged together, because every GM is looking to take on 13 or 14 million in a year when the cap goes down.

Building a hotel so you have rooms for sporadic events is not a winning business model.

It's not uncommon really. The gamble is will the attractiveness of the hotel and facility make the events less sporadic.

No. e4. However, the other businesses involved in the project might draw good business. At least when it isn't winter.
