If I am Darcy I tell St.Louis THis is what i want
Miller and a 4th for Oshie, Halak, 2nd. Conditional if Miller signs an extension for 3+ years or St Louis makes it to the SCF, then it becomes a first.
I then move Vanek for McGinn, Stastny+ a 2nd. again contingent on if Vanek resigns with the team. If not it is Stastny and McGinn. - ImThatGuy
no way they would accept that |

Exactly. Try to put your mind where Darcy's is. IMO that is what he would ask for. |

Sorry but Vanek isn't worth two top six players and a 2nd round pick |

I don't think StL is a good trade partner
They still need to get rid of salarary...
Not take more on
Miller would def improve them in net,
But who would they have to move to fit him under the cap?
And how would they replace those guys?
I just don't see it happening w the Blues |

And the last thing the sabres need is an undersized center. You're making Darcy look like an amazing GM |

He's worth more
Since the last lockout he is 8th in the league in goals scored
He's one of the best in the league in front of the net, maybe the best
That said,
I want nothing to do w Stastny anyways
I'd rather have picks, prospects &/or young NHLers... That would make more sense for our "rebuild" |

Halak 's salary would be included in a deal that would have to include a forward like TJ Oshie or Chris Stewart.
Won't happen. Extremely rare for top guys to go for rental players, and it's not like goalies demand a high return as rentals.
The arbitrator will hear Stewart's case on 7/22 in Toronto. If he's awarded $4.5 million per year or more, the Blues will have to seriously considering moving him.
No, they won't. 9mil left to sign Petro and MPS is plenty.
Pietrangelo is RFA and command a hefty yearly salary bump to $6.5+ million. Allen is RFA, as is Pajaarvi. The Blues don't have the luxury of double-digit cap space to sign all of their RFAs.
Yes, they do. 13 is a double digit number, and in millions, their cap space. 3rd most in the NHL, though capgeek lists them as 4th from having an AHL bound guy listed on the roster ATM.
Do they want to suffer yet another first or second round playoff bounce-out at the hands of Jonathon Quick and the LA Kings?
Extremely unlikely, considering the new divisional playoffs. Would require Blues beating Blackhawks in the regular season, or Kings knocking Blackhawks out in the first round after coming in 4 or 5 in their division, or Blues being beaten by 3 or 4 teams in their division in the regular season.
Who better to beat a young American goaltender-thorn in the side like Quick, than Ryan Miller?
How about Jaroslav Halak, who has just as good of playoff stats?
If you are going to go to all the work of copy & pasting quotes from the Post-Dispatch, why not do a little thinking or research on other things you say, especially pure numbers that take ten seconds to look up? |

GARTH very rarely ever posts on here anymore like he used to.
That said, if the Blues are trading for Miller, its not a rental move. They'd move quickly to re-sign him. I think Miller would re-sign in STL, its a good team and system in front of him.
