Explain why we would swap Miller for Halak? We just take on more salary? - Gerk
I guess it could work if we paid half Miller's salary?
I don't think sending us Halak benefits u guys though
He doesn't help us in our "rebuild"
So it'd just be a salary dump
You'd be better off trading him somewhere else, that way u can actually get some value for him
We'd be looking for picks/prospects I'd think |

Miller and Vanek don't need to go to St Louis unless we get one of Tarasenko, rattie back to us. Oshie is their stafford. WE DONT NEED HALAK.
Ill hang up and listen - Beezer33
That couldn't be further from the truth.. |

He's more like their Ott-lite with a tad more offense. He plays reckless like Taylor Hall but just can't produce consistently |

That's what I meant by Oshie. Thank you sbroads. Don't feel Sabres need him though obviously IMO |

At least he plays hard. I'd rather have another Ott who will pop in some goals than another Stafford who disappears not only on the box score but with his effort |

They've def got a handful of young guys I like
Schwartz would be a guy if target
I love that we're getting bigger & tougher to play against,
But we're losing team speed,
And that kid can fly |

Without coming up with any crazy trade ideas here is what I see our opening roster looking like
Vanek-CoHo-Stafford (not thrilled here is here but I think if he comes in for camp and is told he is playing top line minutes he just may wake up)
Ennis-Grigorenko-Leino I think Leino will be the one to get the kid better. His puck possession and work along the boards will open it up for Ennis and Grigorenko has the imagination and passing skills to make this line work
Ott-Porter-Flynn this line is responsible in their own end and cut shut down top lines IMO. If need be Foligno takes Flynns place
Tropp-Foligno-Kaleta this line would be awful to play against. Hitters followed by more hitters. If Scott dresses I see Flynn taking a seat
Granted I didn't take into consideration what wing each player plays so before you yell at me for that I am just too tired for it right now
This means Girgensons and Armia start in Rochester. Armia will need to adjust to the NA game but Girgensons will be our first call up
On D it's just a cluster
Ehrhoff Myers may get paired together I prefer they don't
I could see
Myers Tallinder
Ehrhoff McBain
Weber Pysk
Risto as the 7th if not Sulzer is here depends on how camp and the preseason go
In net obviously
Miller

Honestly I wouldn't count that out. One of the reasons we haven't gotten it back was the lack of downtown hotels and attractions. Since the Harbor Center is all designed around hockey I could see it working |

I know Foligno had a disappointing season, but I can't see him starting on the 4th line
And he will most likely play LW
I think Ennis will start at center on line2
Grigorenko will be the 3rd line center to start
He won't play in the 4th line, but Rolston will still make him earn his ice time

It was one of my first thoughts when I heard about Harbor Center. I think we'll see an all-star game in town in the next couple of years for sure.

Who's gonna be captain of the Sabres next season? I don't see them giving it to Vanek with all the trade rumors. |

If he signs an extension, probably Vanek
If not, we really don't have anyone worthy IMO
Right now,
Vanek, Stafford & Ott wear an "A"
Maybe we don't name a captain? |

Those rinks are going to be busy all the time . Canisus , is moving there , Buffalo junior Sabres . The whole Buffalo Regals minor league travel teams have been bought by the Sabres and will be moved there . They will also be hosting lots of tourneys plus lots more in the pipeline. |

I remember the Leafs did that after Mats left. I was thinking this year no captain and by the season after next Hodgeson may get it |
