Retiring a number means greatness and longevity, the only numbers that should be retired are 7,11,14,18, 39 IMO.

My criteria is
500+ games played for the organization.
400+ for goalies.
close to a PPG player for a forward.
Shut down prolific D-Man all star awawd winning.
All star, multiple trophy winning goalie.

I dont really understand 2, i know it is tragic, but jersyes like 16 should be honored (Players have to ask to be able to use them) not retired.

Miller needs one more trophy then, I think you are forgetting he is the team leader in wins. We can have this debate all we want but Hasek and probably Miller's are the next 2 jerseys retired. I just don't see how the winningest goalie in franchise history wont get his number retired once he hangs them up

For me yes he needs to win more hardware. Yes he has the most wins and games played. But when they start retiring Jerseys for Very good and not great numbers, it just loses its value, IMO.

Millers number should be honored, Any other goalie needs permission to use it, not retired. Just IMO.

Something doesn't look right. Like they're placing a standard Marriott hotel on top of a building designed to mesh with the other buildings in the district. Why couldn't the entire hotel have the same architecture as the building it's attempting to engulf?

Looks like it's a growing trend for teams. And honestly everyone in Buffalo should be proud of what this building will become because there is nothing else like it.

No don't get me wrong its cool. But theres a certain irony to the whole thing. The hockey team is so dam proud of everything but the hockey team.

People who hate Miller will make up excuses for him winning games. He will and should have his jersey retired here.

And he is only what 33?

Another solid 3 years and above average 2 or 3 years...

He could easily get another 170 wins... idk how many wins he has now or what Brodeurs record is but Miller could get close to top 10 I bet..

Edit.. miller has 269 in 500 games.. brodeur has 669 in 1229 games.

538% vs 544% in wins

Definitely not retired. We have had better players here who's numbers are not retired
