Nuge suffered from a debilitating injury and a sophomore slump and will almost undoubtedly bounce back in a big way next season.

That having been said, the Avs' forward depth beats the Oilers' by miles. Duchene, PAP, Landeskog, Stastny, ROR, Mackinnon, Tanguay, Downie, McGinn, and Mitchell is a group I do truly envy. It's a great mix of shooters, passers, physicality, two-way play, and speed. It's also fairly deep with forwards like Heard, Malone, and possibly Hishon capable of filling a number of roles. Your team's defense, however, is a completely different story. Possibly the worst in the league (besides maybe Florida) as of today.

Landeskog missed 19 games to start the year. I think he got a week or 2 in, and then poof. That didn't help.

Steve Downie, our biggest agitator and one of our better playmakers, was gone ALL SEASON.

RoR held out and only played 29 games, and wasn't quite in game shape yet being he sat for half the damn year.

Hunwick got top minutes. Barrie helped the team win 4-5 in a row and they looked like a completely different team, and then when Wilson was ok, they stuck him back down in LE to save money, being he was on a 2 way contract. The Avs openly admitted last year they weren't going to do much as they couldn't compete.

Succo was a tool. Everyone knows that. Sherman didn't know what he was doing.

Our team is 100% better than last year. The parts that should have never been brought in to begin with (Hunwick, Zanon, SOB, etc.) are gone, and it's no surprise they were the first to go.

We complained about Sherman making these moves from day 1, and not coincidentally, Sakic and Roy got rid of them first thing. SURPRISE.

We'll be fine. And yes, we'll finish ahead of Edmonton.

COL needs Hunwick.

A rookie D man and a below average goalie will not get you anywhere.
EDM's SV% was .917 last year. COL's .901.

COL has done 0 to address goaltending or D yet. They may finish where they did this year. Not like Benoit's gonna push COL from 2nd last
