I don't think that anyone will give up a first to get a guy who has a career high of 14 pts. Why wouldn't the kings take 2 draft picks for him at this point? He's not signed and they have no money to sign him. If he was really worth at least a 1st round pick don't you think one of the other 29 GM's would have sent an offer sheet his way?

It's his first RFA and the Kings are trying to squeeze him. I would to because you don't want to overpay for a 3rd liner especially after only 3 professional seasons. Kings don't want to pay him Bailey type money 2 years from now.

With them just getting Carcillo, they are using the money they should be giving to Clifford. Probably a wrong move but it won't bother me as an Oilers fan.
