Cause that never happens in Toronto?
- annoyance_101

If Augello posts about Toronto being interested in a guy, he provides a reference and he definitely doesn't list every player in the NHL whose name is mentioned in the summer as a possible future Leaf.

If you are jealous because nobody east of Golden gives a flying F about Vancouver or anything to do with Vancouver, oh well.

And you sir are dumb and illiterate. I'll use small words so you can understand what I wrote without asking a friend to make sense of this for you.

Clifford no contract. Kings no money. Oilers need player. Oilers trade for player. Good idea. Not saying it happens. Just, good idea. Say yes MacT.

- Maxbone

So if the Kings have no money, why don't the Oilers offer a 2nd in 2014 and a conditional 3rd in 2014;conditional upon the Oil making the playoffs? Keeps the Kings from having to take on any contracts at this point and the Oilers get their 3rd liner they have been looking for.

I agree. I hope the oilers don't (frank) up Nurse and or Klefbom
- Killbot460

They will all probably be top four but none are #1's

Nurse needs to add 20 lbs if he wants to translate his junior game to the NHL.
- Pilgor09

The good thing is that he's literally working out right now.

What part don't you like? Ennis could play 2nd Center or return to LW and allow Hall to move to Center... He is off to a better start at this point in his career (points per game career) than Gagner. Stafford is bigger winger, younger and smaller annual cap hit than Hemsky (and more durable too). Hemsky (earlier in his career) has shown greater offensive potential than Stafford, though.

Want to swap Smid for one of the non-top pairing Buffalo D to expand the deal?

I don't think that anyone will give up a first to get a guy who has a career high of 14 pts. Why wouldn't the kings take 2 draft picks for him at this point? He's not signed and they have no money to sign him. If he was really worth at least a 1st round pick don't you think one of the other 29 GM's would have sent an offer sheet his way?

halls game translates to the wing much better.
with the way Stafford has played the last couple years, that extra year on his contract is a minus, not a plus. rather the freed up 5 mil at the end of this year.
and how has ennis had a better start to his career? theyre both 23. both had 49 point rookie seasons, and gagner outscored him this year, hasn't dealt with injury problems like ennis and is more consistent. and we'd like to bigger, not smaller.

the trade doesn't make sense for us

well it seems that you're kinda calling anyone who has played as a top pairing guy for even a mediocre team as a number 1.

and it's not like you're wrong per se. u just have a different definition than some do as you've said.

id say no to girardi, green, Carlson, m staal, ehrhoff, Campbell, beauchhemin, byfuglien, hamhuis etc.
for example you have multiple guys on the same team as number 1's.
IMO, it's much more a dominant, anchor type, superstar player that is irreplaceable for the teams success.
but no question every one of the guys uve named can be considered top pairing, star defencemen

- hugefemale dog77

Girardi is most definitely a number 1.
The only 2 shutdown defenseman better than him are Weber and Chara...I would put Seabrook 4th

who's character?

weber is also FAR better at the other end of the ice too.
true shutdown men aren't really number 1's imo.
and as I said, he's not dominat like thje guys I named.
id take mcdonagh over him without a doubt.

seabrook isn't a true number 1 either imo. keith is though
