Hes a (frank)in drunk, who chokes cabbies and university girls?
- PinkSock

He didn't choke any University girls. Plus, much, much worse has happened at UW-Madison regarding star athletes. Any CFB fans, remember Booker Stanley? Google his Mifflin incident if you don't know. It took me a while to find out where a promising RB for the Badgers went until he was the backup running back at UW-Whitewater.

Actully, I've chatted with him a few times.

My opinion as to where the " he's cocky" rumour comes from is that he is a real confident kid, who believes in himself and is also fairly mature for his age.

That can rub a lot of people the wrong way.

He came out last year to FHFF. He got along with everyone who was there and had a lot of fun playing hockey.

Having had to watch kesler for years, I do think canuck fans are a bit numb to ego players though.

if it said "finally back" anywhere else rather than Jersey, i would be more worried. No one wants to play in jersey these days

Nice write up. I heard Harrison (i think thats his name) had a good camp as well.
- whipper334

I have seen very little footage of him, but I have heard good things on him. I remember when he was drafted nobody could find any info on him at all so really i wasn't expecting anything of him.

I only got to see the highlights from the scrimmages, which goalie did the best?

IMO (in no particular order):

Elson, Monohan, Ramage, Seiloff

- The-O-G

I was also impressed by Kanzig. I was nervous that we used a third round on a guy with no goals and 7 assists, but after seeing some footage I'm more comfortable with it now. I was also impressed by the footage of our 7th rounder John Gilmour. Could become a top four puck mover

How did knight look?
- Boom.

Was really strong on faceoffs, don't think he lost more than 5 between the two games.

The Canucks drafting him might have something to do with you talking him up so much...go bug cap fans for not taking him at 23
- flashfire

Ian was talking him up well before the Canucks drafted him—check the archives and the blogs shortly before the draft, if you're skeptical. Had him going 6th overall in his mock draft, if I remember correctly.

Sure, Canucks fans will be higher on him since he was drafted, but subsequently, you could argue that it's also why these supposed "character issues" are also being thrown around a lot more than before.

Either way, there's no reason for a pissing match over it....Ian said that the Flames will regret not drafting him—not that they will regret taking Poirer instead—does it have to be mutually exclusive?

Both teams got great young players in the draft. No reason to trash Shinkaruk or Poirer until they've shown good reason...

How is that Jankowski working out?
- benny948

He has exactly the same NHL stats as 23 of the 30 first round picks in the 2012 draft

GP-0, Goals- 0, Assists-0, PIM -0

These stats are the same as the #2 pick and picks 4 thru 10.

Janko was 5th on Team scoring as a true Freshman on a Hockey East team, pretty good considering he just turned 18.

Lets hold judgement for a bit here

Not to mention he was playing out of position with providence, as a winger.
