This is the same Leiweke who helped doom LA from getting things done for an NFL team and the same Leiweke who was in charge during the Kings failures. The only person who should get credit for LA's success is Dean Lombardi (I mean management wise). He brought in that winning culture.
- LAKingsfan626

Or whoever hired Lombardi, they should get some credit, you need to put the right person in place

I agree.
Im liking Tim more and more each day.
Im so sick of all the pregame ceremonies of victories 40 years ago.
Enough.
Move on.

They will never get rid of the ceremonies that bring awareness to various charities/foundations and the troops etc..

However, why is the HOF night always in TOR? Why can't they hold the dinner/speeches and the puck drop ceremonies elsewhere? Like NY, or MON, or better yet, in the city of the defending cup champs?

It is expensive and a 3 stage process, If I am not mistaken.
- bixll

don't know the cost but yup, it's a 3 stage process depending on the colours used.

oh man game 1 i think it was with Montreal passing the torch to the 110 year old then inching it to the next guy and so on, I couldnt stand that. Some people eat it up I guess
- senstroll

Yeah and then they hand the torch to a little kid. What if the kid had fallen and burned himself? I didn't think it was too smart.

I think the Leafs are the worst for their "pregame entertainment"...all the players just stand and watch for 10mins...I tell you it must kill their pregame warmups and put them to sleep!...does for me most of the time anyways

Just drop the damn puck...save all that pregame stuff for when the zambonies are out there or what have you. Thats how I feel, anyways.

It's becoming pathetic.

Remember when we were once good?....yeah....we just barely have that on film, here - take a look see!

Keep the pictures, keep any statues or what have you....but get rid of the damn 1960s footage during the pregame and keep the "honoring" the vets thing to a minimum. Play some footage of recent success - hits, saves, goals what have you.

I did my research on the removal process, while my kids were concentrating on the installation process..

To the habs credit, they rarely do that "honor our troops/vets" thingy you guys have in Toronto.

on 'annoying':
watching a live game at 1am - 4pm through the nhl network, and every commercial break and intermission having to watch a message by the likes of 'we'll be right back after this intermission break' message (for 15mins+)..
try to stay awake during that!

I agree with the charity and troops thing. Keep those.
Umm the HOF is in Toronto, hence why the ceremony occurs in Toronto.

What happened to the Moslon 3 stars award? That was sort of decent way to bring some pride/recognition to current players.

I realize the HOF is in Tor, but there is no reason a dinner and pre-game ceremony can't take place somewhere else.

There's nothing there...
Unfortunately.

Or are you referring to Jason Blake's spin-o-rama in the shootout..

I had to wait for the bank to do the balance payment on the vehicle I'm trading in.

Banks are slow.

What would be the point.
They are being inducted in Toronto, no sense having the dinner and ceremony in Nashville.
Its part of the whole weekend festivities.
