Lieweke sounds like an egomaniacal stuffed shirt. If you read the actual article, the main thing emphasized is that he has promised the MLSE Board that he will double the value of MLSE within 7 years. The guy is a businessman/snake oil salesman, period. He's interested in $, not pictures. This is typical 'mission/vision statement' stuff you get from management types these days. Blah blah blah. - fifty__missions
So, they'll be worth $2 billion, but still no Cup in 52 years? |

no one else sick of having all the 70-80-90 year old ex-leafers come out on the ice before games to remind the team of how long its been since the club was successful? K, but I am.
Yeah, they deserve recognition, but to a certain extent, please. |

There's not gonna be anyone left soon. They will have to bring out former players who have won a cup, but with someone else. Mayers, Kaberle, Gill and Stalberg parading round the ice. |

If something is really important to you, buy a t-shirt.
That way, when it becomes faded and stretched, and you become embarrassed to be seen in it, you can easily throw out the t-shirt. - Atomic Wedgie

I think the Leafs are the worst for their "pregame entertainment"...all the players just stand and watch for 10mins...I tell you it must kill their pregame warmups and put them to sleep!...does for me most of the time anyways
Just drop the damn puck...save all that pregame stuff for when the zambonies are out there or what have you. Thats how I feel, anyways. |

This is the same Leiweke who helped doom LA from getting things done for an NFL team and the same Leiweke who was in charge during the Kings failures. The only person who should get credit for LA's success is Dean Lombardi (I mean management wise). He brought in that winning culture. |

as a betting guy
i often bet against teams who are having some kind of ceremony prior to the game
seems to work out pretty well and usually plus money cause you're betting on the road team |
