Anderson. He was the 5th overall pick and amounted to pretty much nothing. Joel Savage was another one. He was the 13th overall pick and played 3 NHL games.

I liked Virta, uber talented, hated to see him go at that time.

How can the greatest goalie of all time ,not bethe best player in his own organization. Hasek played with a bunch of scrubs in buffalo. Peca was our best forward at the time and wouldn't even had played on Dallas top two lines and maybe not on there third.. Zhitnik was our best d man and he would of been the 5th best defenseman on Dallas. Hasek goes to detroitwith old players and wins a cup. If hasek played on better teams he would be one of the three best players of all time.or if he was the goalie on Edmonton,they might never of lost

This! Hasek was an amazing goalie, the best the Sabres have ever had, but also left this organization in a very bad place after he left. His wish for the Sabres to not take any major pieces back in a trade to a cup contender.
