I completely agree with Perreault at #1. I was young enough at the time to watch him on a nightly basis and his end to end rushes were the thing of legend. He was one of the stars of his time and his 17 years as a Buffalo Sabre will go down as a team record. He had super star talent and I can recall that when he was drafted he didn't speak a lick of English. He is the greatest Sabre ever imo.

Hasek had a great run in Buffalo and was amazing to watch. His stats speak for themselves and you can make the case for him as #1, I understand that. But Perreault is, and always will be Mr. Sabre. It was awesome to watch the French Connection on a nightly basis. They were part of the greatest team ever in Sabres history. That 74-75 team was just unbelievable. You could make a case for the 06-07 team but for a franchise in it's 5th season to go 49-16-15 for 113 points is incredible, led by #11. And Pegula acknowledged Perreault and got teary eyed at his first press conference as owner. To us old guys, Gilbert was Mr. Hockey in Buffalo.

That's saying what I said but saying it better. Perrault is the kind of name that transcends being a player. The same way no Canadien will ever be better than Richard, no Red Wing will ever be better than Howe, no Flyer will ever be better than Clarke, and so on. Hasek may be better statistically, but Perrault, in Buffalo, is untoppable.

In reality, Tom Barrasso had 2 great years here. After that, he was more than mediocre.

Laughable, Ruff's love for his starter, and no more ties is the only reason Miller has the win total. Hasek is literally the best goalie of all time, Brodeur couldnt even win his first Vezina until Hasek was 38 yeas old, people that argue Brodeur dont actually look at stats and accomplishments. Its a shame where Hasek was born, who knows how much more he would have won, in terms of wins and awards if he was able to play in North America right away.

Mogilny at 8 is absurd (76 goals / 51 Asst) !?!? Gilbert was awesome but he never had a 50 goal season. I like the list but just don't agree with your opinions. Nice work.

In fact, looking at his career, he pretty much maintained that pattern with every team he played with (us, Canucks and Jersey). One career year, and a few very good years.

I thought you meant they were biased against him because he was not from Canada.

I go Hasek #1 and Gil #2. IMO Hasek is the greatest goalie ever to play the game and in talks as a top 5 player at any position (With Gretzky, Orr, Lemieux ahead of him). Gil however is not even in top 10 best forwards. Gil has longevity on his side but Hasek was better at his position.

Sorry, but Perreault's longevity, consistency, impact and reputation on the team, along with being the team's 1st ever pick, have me choosing him over Hasek. The dominator has impressive stats, but his entire career wasn't with Buffalo. You could also count on #11 to play 70-80 games a season.

If I had to choose one player, like I did, it's Perreault over Hasek. I'm not saying that it wasn't a close decision, either.

Brodeur is great but I really wonder how his stats would be if he played on another team. Not saying he still wouldn't be great but I think playing in the Devils system really helped pad his stats. How many shutouts did he get where he only had to make 14 saves anyway?

IMO, Hasek was the greatest overall goalie.

Roy may have been the greatest pressure/playoff goalie

It's Hasek, bar none. Some of the things he did were super-human. It's simply sour grapes not to put him at the top of the list.
