Haha my bad man. I just hate to see Murray waste our cheap contracts for our rising prospects. And now he's signing Penner to push them farther down the depth chart? It's ridiculous

FYI, further down the depth chart = playing against easier competition on many days. I wish the Kings would hire you as a coach.

A checking line that failed to do it's job when it counted. I'd love to see it continue but a) I want it to actually be a shut down line and b) the young guys deserve a chance for more minutes. I only brought up stastney as a potential 2c that would help this team.

Playing down the depth chart (which apparently includes playing on the forth line since you want the checking line back together) also means playing ten minutes at most a game. They may play subpar competition but it comes at a price. So with your words you might as well give our checking line first line minutes

I really like the Penner signing to a degree. I read that Selanne informed Murray that he wants to see what the Ducks are going to do to make the team better. Also read that he is training and skating. I think he looked slower too. But with that compressed schedule, it was hard for him to recover.

I think the moves Murray has made have been pretty solid. Bobby Ryan had to go sometime. He wasnt happy. If Penner and Silfverberg can score a combined 30+ goals this year, I would take that with a $2 mil less cap hit. Here are my thoughts on the lines with Penner

without Selanne
Penner-Getz-Perry
Etem-Bonino-Siflverberg
Cogs-koivu-Palms
Maroon/Winnik-Holland/Rackel-Belesky

With Selanne
Penner-Getz-Perry
Etem-Bonino-Siflverberg
Cogs-koivu-Selanne
Maroon/Winnik-Holland/Rakell-Belesky/Palms

Holland needs to step up this year or he is gone. Rakell is a rising star and is coming hard for a shot at this team. Something has to give with the Wings on this team. Maroon is a monster like Penner (maybe he is here to teach the kid) But I have this feeling that Palms will be traded with Sbisa or Allen for a D man. Vatanen and Lindholm look like the real deal. So something has to give.

Beleskey and Palmieri also go on the top line with Getz and Pears.
Rakell may steal the 4C from Holland

Selanne is not a top 6 player anymore and palms needs more minutes
