Last 3 seasons on FOs:
Zajac 12-13: 57.4% (881 FO)/11-12: 57.8% (204 FO)/ 10-11: 55.3% (1278 FO)
Grabovski 12-13: 50.6% (638 FO)/11-12: 51.5% (905 FO)/10-11: 48.4% (1326 FO)
Henrique 12-13: 49.0% (680 FO)/11-12: 48.8% (1026 FO)/ 10-11: NA
Playoffs:
Zajac 2011-12: 54.2% (448 FO)
Henrique 2011-12: 43.7% (339 FO)
Grabovski 2012-13: 44.9% (98 FO)
I wouldn't say it's a tremendous falloff.
Point totals last 3 seasons:
Zajac: 44, 6, 20
Henrique: NA, 51, 16
Grabovski: 58, 51, 16
Who knows. He's hardly a massive downgrade though.
Whatever happened to Steckel? - FLdevilsFAN
Exactly. Marginally better at best. Why take up cap room on most likely a multi-year deal when we already have depth there? We need wingers. By adding grabovski we get a little bit better taking up some of our remaining cap room and not addressing our true needs. |

Zajac and Henrique are also staples on the PK where Grabovski got exactly 0:01 per game on - bobert836
Not to mention Grabo has yet to produce in a system that requires defensive responsibility. Comparing Grabovski under Ron Wilson's run and gun system really isn't fair in comparison to Henrique and Zajac, who are both very good defensively. |

That's actually very fair. I'd have a hard time saying no to that and I am a big believer in building around Larsson. |

Another center that puts up average numbers and a year before he hits UFA. No thank you. |

Depends on the price. Unfortunately our assets really begin and end on D, and I know Pittsburgh has been drafting D a lot recently. |

Now, why would we help them? Let them sit in their upcoming cap poop storm |

If we could get a good deal for a 30 goal scorer, why not? He's also locked up long term, so no worries about him jumping ship. I don't mind helping the pens either, kind of the enemy of my enemy type of thing. |

O'Reilly's next qualifying offer is 6.5 million. I like the player, but he's going to get an expensive contract as an RFA. |

Honestly I would love for people to stop including the Adams in trades there not going anywhere. They are the future of this franchise, along with Gelinas, Merrill, Severson, Schenider, and Boucher. |

He's a goal scorer for sure, but the since he's been on the Pens, the only time he's been effective has been when he played with Malkin. Anytime Malkin was out of the lineup or not on his line, Neal was fairly useless, and I think it's safe to say we don't have a centre even close to Malkin's level.
The reason I wouldn't want to help them is because they are one or two guys away from being a serious contender year in and year out, and since they are not only in our conference, but our division, I would prefer not to be the team thats gets them to that point |

you think we'll be helping them by taking away Geno's linemate? the guy that posts tons of goals? Losing Neal won't help the Penguins on the ice. He was good in Dallas too. I knew that trade was robbery the second I read it. It's freaking Goligoski; a 2nd pairing puck mover. |

They don't need offense though. They've been trying to find a winger for Crosby for years and yet the most success they've had was when he played with scrubs like Dupuis and Kunitz. Malkin likewise, doesn't need amazing linemates to be successful.
And ya, that trade was nonsense |

They're better with him than without him tho. Kunitz and Dupuis scrubs? Very hard working players. Kunitz has a lot of skill too. Dupuis is probably a 3rd liner without Crosby, but Kunitz is a good player. |

Compared to guys they've tried like Hossa, Iginla, etc. they kinda are scrubs. The point is that they don't need a high priced winger to be successful because the money would be best used elsewhere, ie. their god awful D, but as is they can't really do anything about that because of the cap problems they will have soon |

Neal is a better player than Dupuis and Kunitz. Sure he struggles a bit without Malkin, but his next option is basically Sutter. We are a good possession team so I really don't think that his numbers would fall off that bad. Would I expect 40 goals like he does now? No, but 30+ isn't unreasonable as he was on pace for just under that in his last season in Dallas. He's also 25, so we'd be getting younger with a long term option. If we don't take advantage of their cap situation some other team will. |

Their defense is a coaching problem. No matter who they put back there it will most likely be of little difference until they get a coach that can preach a disciplined system. |

I am suprised that no one seems to have mentioned BOBBY RYAN. I don't think he will be a target this year , and I don't think a "KOVY" replacement is possible this year or any year. You won't find one player to replace his mintues , production , or electricity he brought when he touched the puck. HOWEVER , I think if Ryan tanks in OTTAWA we may be able to trade for him , or wait until he is a UFA in 2 years. It's time the Devils stop letting there players go home for nothing ,(Yes I know PARISE may have stayed had we not broke every rule and the bank to get KOVY ) and sign guys like BOBBY RYAN who hail from Jersey!!!!!
In the short term-ish , Brunner would be a good fit in Jersey , as a defensively responsible player who might be able to help Tedenby and Josefson get over the hump.
-Jagr is great , but not for this year in Jersey IMO.
-Grabo may want too much
-Raymond could do what Ray Emery did and take a 1 year deal around 2 MIL and show ppl what he can do .
-Boyes still not sure why this guy is un-signed but a bigger body top 6 guy could fill a hole |

No one mentions BOBBY RYAN because BOBBY RYAN just got traded to OTTAWA & still has a couple years left on his deal. I think we'd all like BOBBY RYAN in NJ, but I'm focused on UFA improvements & BOBBY RYAN is not a UFA. In a couple years BOBBY RYAN will be worth a look. |
