He got PHUCKED OVER here...BEST WISHES to Car Bomb in Lotusland.
- philco28

He also hurt each knee here and was healthy for about a month or so his first season, that was it. I wish him well, I like his play when he's healthy and has leg strength but he looked done last year.

A smart off season just gets better.

I certainly doubted Bowman when he got the job, but that doubt is all but gone. He (or Sr.) clearly know what he's doing.

Glad to see #13 gone. Anyone know if they're going to put his name on the cup (23/48 games played, no final appearance)?

Stan continues to make some small but important deals. I was hoping to be able to trade Carcillo and/or Brookbank for salary cap relief and am surprised one got done. Now let's see how the money is used.

LaRose? I know Stan saisd he's done, but...

As far as Rockford kids, Smith has to be in. Rooting for Danault because of his speed. Curious to see Morin. I remember Morin being tough, physical, and gritty with a great shot. Hayes frustrates me to watch because he is so phucking slow.

Trading Carcillo opens som more space.

I can't see Brookbank being traded, he's a decent 7th defenseman and somebody will need to give Rozsival a rest this season. Carcillo can be replaced internally, Brookbank can't. Stanton may be ready, but I don't know if Stan would rush him.

Would he have gotten a day with the cup if his name wasn't going on it? With the shortened season, I think just about everyone from the opening day roster deserves o be on it.

Nobody has been able to answer this yet.

He didn't play in half of the regular season games and he didn't appear in the Cup Final.

Obviously the Hawks can have him put on there, but technically they don't have to. I've been legitimately curious to see if he gets put on the cup. That would be a pretty big burn to get left off.

I for one am dissappointed. If they use the cap space gained to add a piece...maybe I cut Stan some slack. If they sit on the cap space...what's the point?

I would hope he gets his name on it. If they don't put his name on it though, Mayers shouldn't be on there either. I'm sure they're not gonna take the pr hit and not have Mayers on there.

I'd say he deserves to be there along with Mayers, who also doesn't technically qualify.

Yea, I really hope this was a move because there was interest for a quality depth player or veteran to come in for cheap to try and win with CHI.

Not that Carcillo was a shiny penny, but he was still an experienced NHLer that could fill in if needed.

I am very wary of trying to bring up Morin, Smith, Pirri, Hayes, and possibly Danault in the same season. Thats the workings of a team on the rise, not a team that is defending the cup

Keep the "Icehog Tryouts" at a minimum and let the guys who actually belong there win those spots, let the guys not quite there go back to Rockford. No need to create concession price spaces on the roster

Getting a draft pick? Especially if Bollig can take his place.

I don't like the guy (#13) but I see that he should be on there.

The more players included, the better. The ratio of front office and behind the scenes guys on the cup versus actual players kinda bugs me.

Maybe Stan is looking at it as Bollig fills that role, so let's give another kid a spot for some nights?

This club loves having cap flexibility at the trade deadline to add pieces. I would be shocked if they add someone now, but fully expect them to add a piece or two at the trade deadline. That is this FO's MO.

Just seemed like he was in the doghouse a lot and didn't get the respect he deserved for rehabbing after multiple injuries. I could be way wrong, but it's just the way i saw it.

Exactly. I would bet that most people here's clearest memory of Carcillo is the hit on his own teammate in the Finals for Philly.

Freeing up another roster spot will make training camp even more interesting. We could have 3 rookies on the team next year. While added fresh blood to the team is always good I think having 3 rookies play at once is a risky move, but we'll see how things work out.

Car Bomb opened up 850k in cap space, I doubt they Hawks do anything... With a little under 4 mil in cap space with 4 open forward spots, that does not give a lot of wiggle room and we have Bowman as our GM, not known for making big FA splashes....

Sharp isn't going to play centre, give up on that dream.

I'm still weary of Handzus playing with two rookies. I love the idea of him helping our young guys, but that may be too much to expect from him.

- DarthKane

Weary or Wary? Are you tired or it, or concerned?

What would be worse...Handzus between 2 rookies or as JJ had it...between Bollig and the now departed Carcillo?
