Per @LAKings, #Blackhawks trade Carcillo there for a conditional pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.

I think he fits in better there. Especially on line 4. Hope they lose a few of their players. They will always be a threat with quick in net. Penner will be gone and hopefully clifford or Lewis too

Sure someone beat me to it, but it looks official: carcillo to La for conditional pick in 2015

Hmm, see, I only had to say they couldn't deal him right now and then they deal him. lol

Not a fan of this news. The division got much tougher this off season...would have preferred to keep him.

Last season at the TDL their was a lot of talk here that the Rockford guys seemed to have no value to other teams. Some guys may not fit the Hawks speed game while others such as Pirri are somewhat of an unknown as to what they will contribute.I like to think that some of this rookie playing will end up becoming auditions for potential trades? If we have players that can play in the NHL but not for the Hawks we need value back.

I'm not sad to see him go. Carcillo staying or being traded won't make a big difference to the team. If Bollig can play a full season on the 4th line we'll be fine.

Thank goodness...now we don't need to talk about him anymore.

This won't make a difference to our team, since he probably wouldn't have played a lot anyway, but I think he can be pretty useful on the right team. You can bet he will be motivated to play the Hawks. I can see another playoff matchup in our future

At $825K for a handful of regular season games and no playoffs Carcillo was quite expensive (and maybe damaged goods), especially with Bollig on a one way deal this year.

There's going to be some good players available without contracts - even though Stanbow says he's finished I don't believe him. If somebody good is available for $1.5M for 1 year he will sign the player.

Great. Now say there is no way we can trade Brookbank to Philly for couturier or schenn.

If healthy, LA will use him as the Hawks did...he won't see much ice in the playoffs.

Yeah, I just don't think it was necessary to deal him. So long Gorilla Salad

Alot of teams thought he was going to be useful - Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Chicago and now LA.

Ogi...don't you think the Hawks can find a competent player to fill that roll? Considering how much ice he saw, with the fact that the Hawks won the Cup anyway, does it really matter all that much?

Alot can still happen between now and opening night...

He may have had a larger roll, but injuries limited him...especially this past year.

Everything you support well, wiz, but what do you think is Bowman's response if the face off team win percentage remains poor? Would Bowman consider moving Pirri for a lesser offensive talent just to obtain a better face off man? Or wait and see how Danault does whenever he plays regularly in Chicago. How big is puck possession now that we may also have a worse skating team than last year?

Other teams may match us talent wise as far as depth of talent. But last year we had that element of speed on bottom lines. Now we may be missing the speed and talent depth. And still weak in face offs.

Perhaps we will see that the players who are best at getting back into defensive coverage do in fact get the nod more often than not from the conservative Q. But if this is not a clear situation where one Rockford player stands out in back checking, then Q rotates the player who is best per the strategy against the opponent each game.

I guess. But LA is also losing a few players. Penner is gone. Clifford might be traded. Lewis might be gone. I can see him on their 4th line

Sharp isn't going to play centre, give up on that dream.

I'm still weary of Handzus playing with two rookies. I love the idea of him helping our young guys, but that may be too much to expect from him.

The trade that makes me chuckle is when Philly traded Scottie Upshall AND a 2nd round pick for him LOLZ

Yeah I guess it is telling to move on from so many teams. Still wish he went east, though
