we used to have a million B's, Bolland, Bell, Berti, Bickell, Balan, Barkunov. and a million more I am forgetting right now. At least the S's are good players aside from a few of our B's. I agree about your 3rd line. Think they can be pretty dangerous, too. - tomcat24

My money is on Smith to take Stalberg's spot on the 3rd line, leaving us with Saad - Shaw - Smith (gotta keep the S's together).

Damn I knew I was forgetting a lot of them. And they are major players, too. There were even more of them, too. We did have pretty good luck with a lot of the B's. |

Could the hawks offer sheet B.Schenn or Coutouier next year? |

I think a lot of Castro's problems are that they are trying to get him to generate more power. He was and always is going to be a contact hitter, his OBP and OPS will be directly dictated by his average. They are trying to count on him to be a run producer instead of a guy who gets on and scores runs. That is the issue when your team completely sucks offensively. When he is playing second base after Baez or some other SS comes up he will be looked at in a different light. - droe411
I've thought for a while now that Castro excelled at lower levels on pure talent alone and was never taught the fundamentals of the game. His footwork in the field is atrocious. Approach at the plate sucks. Bad attitude. Pouts when a borderline pitch is called a strike. More baserunning blunders than you can shake a stick at. The bulb needs to go on in this guys head or that kid that reminded me of a raw Dave Concepcion will disappear forever. When he gets moved, I'd rather it be to the outfield. Barney will be a fine everyday second baseman on a team with a real major league roster when he finally learns that little guys with fly ball swings don't cut it in the majors. |

Smith on the 4th line
Shaw-Kruger-Saad - 3rd line - UnnamedSource
I can see that, too. Smith is the type of player that can be on any line and do his job. So Zus with Smith and Carcillo/Bollig? not bad, either. Who pk's with Kruger? Saad and Zus were pretty good and Toews and Hossa are always good together. Kruger and Smith? I think Shaw could be pretty good. |

Either one would be great. I think Couturier has a lot more offense to give. He would look great with Sharp and Hossa. How often do offer sheets work out, though? plus it would take a big offer to get them. It might cost a few 1st rounders. |

In a way I'd like to see Pirri make the team as the 2C, but I think the role is Kruger's to lose.
Eli...I'm sure you've been asked this before, but what are your thoughts on Morin making the team? I keep hearing he's a slow skater, but I've also read he's been solid on the PK. I think that Smith should be the first IceHog to make the team, but would you really rank Morin behind Danault and Hayes (as far as making the roster next season)? - DarthKane
I don't necessarily rank Morin ahead of Danault, but rather see Danault as a dark horse to make the Hawks out of camp due to the idea of Danault being able to win faceoffs, his ability to play on the wing, and providing someone on the lower lines that can possibly replace "the little motor" also know as Frolik.
Honestly, the safe bet is that Smith and Morin end up on the lower lines, and Hayes makes the team riding in the press box and playing every other game. |

No. It's not a stupid question, just sarcasm. It's a long time between now and June 2014. Who knows what happens to both of those guys, and the Hawks ability to throw out an offer sheet?
Anyways, how many offer sheets were tossed out to players this summer? I can't remember any. In the past, there haven't been many offer sheets tossed to RFAs. I can't really see that changing. |

The league minimum is $550,000. I would assume it's a two way deal and he'll make $65,000 - $70,000 in Rockford. |
