When I drive I'm normally dialed into two things, sex or the Philadelphia Flyers. Right now outside of waiting for a very possible Simon Gagne signing, I've rewinded my mind to a year ago just before Rick Nash was traded to the New York Rangers and linked to the Flyers along with Bobby Ryan. Now, on paper Bobby Ryan did seem like a pretty good fit. He's around the age of Giroux, Simmonds and Voracek. He's more physical than Nash and a consistent 30 goal scorer. Now moving a head to a season as a whole I've noticed everything Bobby Ryan has done, it's quietly done. Rick Nash on the other hand has a certainly presence about him. I think Rick Nash even with the large cap hit is the best investment the Rangers have made in along time. Everytime he was on the ice against the Flyers, it was easy to notice. Getting to the point,I'm wondering what type of presence Vincent Lecavalier has. With all the compliments I've handed to Nash, Nash himself has still done very little in the NHL in comparison to Lecavalier outside of add to his own stats. This isn't to say Rick Nash isn't a solid player because he is. Nash vs. Ryan I like Nash more. Nash vs. Lecavalier, close call. Nash is younger and still has his wheels but Lecavalier I feel still has plenty to offer to the Flyers. Lecavalier certainly doesn't take a lot of focus off Giroux.

Historically a fringe third-liner. He was very fortunate to get $4M a season.

He claimed to have seats in the section next to mine a few years ago but wouldn't meet me.

Meltzer I've met.

I don't think he has an evil side.

I have my suspicions as to whom he is IRL.

It is silly to have Lecavalier playing anywhere other then center
- dingo8urbaby

I can't even figure out what the line up would look like with vinny at RW...

Read, Simmonds, Voracek are all natural right wingers.

Simmonds would play LW, the side he plays is pretty interchangeable.

It could be a 5 on 5 thing, as well.

Maybe something like

Simmonds-Schenn-Voracek

I'm still unsure of this. I think it is high time McGinn won a permanent roster spot, lord knows he's worked his ass off to get that spot. On one hand, as someone in here pointed out a couple blogs ago, McGinn to us now is only slightly behind what Simmonds was to LA a few seasons ago. The difference is Simmonds was able to crack the roster, and McGinn can't seem to. On the other hand, Gagne would be the more effective 3rd liner. Maybe McGinn should just get the 4th line LW spot?

Well for one thing, the coach doesn't seem willing to use McGinn in a 4th line role. Probably because he's not an especially good skater and doesn't have a very good two way game.

Simmonds also progressed faster than McGinn, jumping immediately from being a 3rd year junior player to the NHL on the Kings' third line. McGinn played 4 years of junior, really didn't do much to earn a NHL shot before opening some eyes late in his AHL rookie season.

Until Gagne is signed, I'm not going to include him in proposed line-ups anyhow. Obviously if he does end up back here, he'd trump McGinn on the third line, and Talbot and Rinaldo being on the 4th line would likely see McGinn playing in the AHL

Rosehill isn't here to play a regular shift on the 4th line, he's here to beat guys up.

Also, to be fair, he's actually not as bad a skater as I thought he was.

But if Rosehill's dressed, he's playing 3-4 minutes. It's not helping McGinn to play that small amount, better to play in the AHL.

Also, Rosehill is likely the 13th forward, as the 4th line will probably be Talbot-Hall-Rinaldo

I'm torn between McGinn and Gagne. Truth be told it would be real disappointing to have McGinn and Laughton off the roster, but it is what it is.

Definitely want Talbot in the lineup. Is his leg officially all better now?
