Since 2000-2008 (And I used 2008 since most of the 2008 and on have no played 100 games or more), Timmins has drafted 23 players with more than 100 games of NHL experience.
Without takign a look around the entire NHL here is a quick look at some of the better teams:
Detroit 15
Chicago: 19
Pittsburgh: 19
St.Louis: 16 (Many people feel had the best scout in NHL in Kukolainen)
LA: 18 - willey101
haha im glad you pointed that out, i was a little puzzled as to why he was thinking timmins was terrible. he is infact one of the tops. as far as the la/habs rumor, wonder who it could be. ( if there are infact talks) |

Yeah, no doubt. I hope a couple chime in with some ideas. I could live with that trade too. I think we have our foward group, no matter the size, set for the season. We need a physical D in there. It's the biggest hole with Emelin injured until Dec or later. Plus we get him for one year, and get rid of the 3 (or 2?) years left on Bourques deal. Bourques cap hit is good, it's just a risk on the injury issues, but Mitchell comes with those issues too. Does LA have a internal cap? - SmielmaN
I think it's a good fit for the habs. Mitchell is a big part of their D-core, so snatching him won't be easy. But I think since he's in the last year of his contract, it's possible. Bourque have a good caphit of 3.33 for another 3 year, so he can certainly be a good fit (kinda big, good scorer, and a LW... maybe it's just me but their only true LW left is Dwight King...).
Kings have 4.2 available on their cap and I don't think they are afraid to go to the cap. Anyway, they have plenty of room for him. |

la is in serious need of a top 6 scoring lw but not sure how high of a price we can give up, can't afford to keep penner and still have two rfa's to resign. kopitar and brown go nowhere....Mitchell is not going anywhere either unless his injury suffers another setback. Lombardi has resigned players banking on Willie Mitchell to return and taking his cap into consideration. LA has an excess of dmen (9) so Lombardi may try and offload one for some help on offense. - LAkings68
I have the same feeling on my first thought. Like I said earlier, I would think Bourque would be involved, I think you need LWs bad. As for the return, I kinda have the feeling MB is looking at Mitchell (or maybe Greene?). I kinda wish he go for Justin Williams, but I'm just throwing wishes here |

personally i dont see the habs going after a d... what i would like to see is a package for carter. ya hes pricey but hes a big winger that could fit nicely with pacs and pleks.
we have an abundance of d, and with the SEL norris winner in nygrin i think theyll try and get some of the younger guys playing or fighting for those spots |

Future looks brighter of course, but for next year... mehhhh. With Emelin out, we need a shutdown D. Mitchell is on his last year of his contract, could be a good fit. If not, Carter would be great, or I would love JW a lot too. Can't have enough of clutch players for the playoffs

I agree with all of this. Like you said, the big prob next year is the D at this point. |

id say tough it out till emelin gets back in the liineup. break tinordi in, rotate beaulieu, thrower, dietz and nygrin into the lineup. see what they can do. our d is looking pretty solid for the next few years. pleks has been needing a winger for ever. |

Habs we're top 5 in scoring last year and all, I know plek needs a winger, but honestly, from what we saw last year, I think D is where we need a big shutdown guy. We have the same offensive core as last year but with Briere included. If Briere is not playing with Plek, then another younger/better winger will be (perhaps Gallagher) |

Looks like Eklund drummed up some interest for Prospal. Good job Ek!
Prediction: whichever team wins the "Prospal sweeps" will stop pursuing free pucks and wait for Vinny to take it away from the other team. Sound strategy. |

I like the wishful thinking on obtaining carter but that's not gonna happen. he was our only truly consistent scorer last year and when Richards gets his concussions carter always fills in on second line center perfectly. I can see from his age and reasonable cap hit + his playoff performance, Williams may get traded for the right player while value is good. Stoll too because his cap is high for his production, just good for faceoffs and penalty kill imo, and we have prospect centers looking at taking his spot for cheaper. |

The delay in the Jagr signing is because he's waiting for an offer from SKA (E56)
Big trade coming soon will involve AHL'ers, depth players.
More to come...?
Phaneuf is the new Kaberle for Eklund. Just watch.

I disagree. If Lombardi can get a good return for Willie Mitchell, he'll pull the trigger immediately. We have an overabundance of D-men, with Regehr, Greene, Schultz, & Ellerby signed and NHL ready to play the defensive defenceman role this season, and Derek Forbort waiting in the wings for next season. With the exception of Greene, I don't think any of our rostered defensive D-men are untouchable. If we could pull off Mitchell for Bourque, I'd be all about it. |

At this point, I don't think Lombardi makes a deal unless it's a defenseman going out, and a forward or prospect/pick coming back. We are oversigned at defense right now, and we need to dump 2 of them before training camp. Mitchell and Regehr are definitely obtainable, but I don't think Greene is going anywhere.
My bet is that Martinez and Mitchell are gone in the next few weeks. |

I don't see Montreal trading Bourque or anyone else to obtain a defenseman. This doesn't make sense. |

ATTENTION FANS OF TREVOR TIMMINS...Just becase the Habs under him have Alot of draftpicks still in the NHL Does Not make him good as a scouting director.Look at Montreal's roster, Half the players are from other teams., They had to get Parros because in 10 years of Timmins drafts, he hasnt found a Fourth Line enforcer How sad is that..Does anybody want any of his picks like Desharnais, Leblanc, Chipchura Higgins etc.. And what has Montreal WON or come close to winning in the last 10 years.. |
