yah right on, my dad is a member at beverly, its one of the only places il score in the low 90's if im struggling...best round there was a 81 though, which is decent...my best round ever was a 79, and i had a 34 after 9!! - big_dion
78 was my best round! Went out for the first full 18 holes with the wife and I was more focused on her game and was just swinging away, knocking them up one hole at a time until I realized how well I was actually doing! |

I play a very straight game. I don't try to work the ball, I just play straight, as I can. I play high 70's to low 80's. I have a 8 handy-cap currently. - bixll

ive had some of my best rounds in 2 man best ball tournaments, won a few actually! its great having someone who can help with putting hahaha |

i had a rough go on the weekend as well, playign with a broken finger tip is a lot harder than i thought it woudl be long irons blew up my finger cause u gotta hit the ground harder i find. - big_dion
Right I forgot - my index finder on my stronger hand (grip) had a huge blister from working with flagstone all weekend....so needless to say my right hand grip was a little weak. Beer helped as we progressed though |

Funny, I have been called the greatest scramble partner ever, several times, because I am straight off the tee. I always hit last. |

3 of the best tips for anyone
-keep your backswing slow (much more controlled swing)
-keep your eye on the ball and your head down (they are 1 obviously)
-dont move your front foot to keep better control of your swing (ball goes straight)

thing is, Im a very good teacher my self. My dads a scratch golfer and hes had me playing since I was a wee todler...but I cant see what Im doing wrong so Ive had a hard time figuering it out. Went to the range last year and hit nothing but my driver...changed my stance, took a 3/4 swing, slow it down, yelled at the ball....nothing worked. Its all in my head at this point I just need to work through it methinks. |

I find that if I drive one of my shots over their heads it usually leads to them letting me play through.
Or fisticuffs.

ffs this happened to me on Sat. 2 of us were playing behind a slow foursome, and the douche behind us drove it 20 yards past our heads. We werent the ones playing slow, (frank) you douche. |

My problem with the driver is when I release my wrists. Either too early or too late. One in 5 I get it right.

no one practises their putting and yet its the toughest part of the game. I was two-three putting most greens on sunday and could have shot in the low 80's had I been able to sink a few putts. |

I used to chirp my buddy a few years back who played his slice and wouldnt fix it - and Ive become that guy. Frank me. I need to get my drive back...and not because its killing my game...but because its killing those who have to watch my tee up 30-40 yards to the right |

You are correct. The best way to lower your score is to make great approach shots. Chipping and putting require the most attention, but people spend the least amount of time practicing those 2 vital aspects of the game.
I have a driving net set up on the lawn of the majority of the summer. I have a chipping bucket, but I do not practice my putting. I could prolly be a scratch golfer, if I could putt. |

me too! I did grounds crew at 5am all summer and after my shift was over (around noon lol) Id either play a few rounds or practise my short game etc. Nice when you were able to play free, 5-6times a week!!
Those were the days when Id shoot 38-38 per 18 holes |
