Always excuses with the Canadiens. Every other team in our division got better this summer. Except us. And OF COURSE you have to give up something (farm or picks) or use up cap Space to acquire big talented players. Bergevins statement that u do not improve your team via trades is HOGWASH how exactly do u improve ure team via draft when u r drafting middle of the pack ech year?? Also look at Boston n Chicago yes some of their players were drafted but key components like chara sidenberg ference mcquaid sequin Horton Kelly peeverley hossa sharp n list goes on came via trades n free agency. Bergevin is another in a LNG list of gms here who r sleepin at the wheel!

Briere will have a hard time doing it by himself in the playoffs with this team.

Only one way to find out for sure. But having one guy who can pot a few goals can help the whole team out, (Cammalleri in 2010).

Having one guy pulling miracles out of his ass helped us in 2010.

Halak was big in Washington series, but Cammalleri was the main guy for the Pittsburgh series, I think he had like 13 goals going into the Flyers one. Without him and Halak the Habs were gone in 4 games.

Right.

THE PLAN:

1) Follow Chicago's model

2) WIN

Best plan ever.

The Series against the Sens this year kinda reminded me of that ECF against Philly.... Small forwards unable to get past big defensemen.

I think they'll do better this year. But I really don't think they have the prospect pool to be a force in the NHL anytime soon.

Let's see how the likes of Bournival, Holland and others pan out. Also, surrounding the kids with a few experienced career AHLer wouldn't hurt. Add talented players like Collberg, Hudon, Bozon and Nygren(sp?) and who knows...
