I respect your opinion but I believe he played a great part in the team turnaround this year. - Toball777
I was also impressed with the shortened regular season he coached.
I was not impressed with the way he lost his brains in the playoffs.

Speaking of which, why has everyone given up on Moen? He sucked for the first half season after a major injury but was excellent and earned his contract the year before that. Why not wait and see if he regains his form? - muffin_man
Maybe cause he (frank)ing sucks? |

Bergevin would not have signed DD for 4 years if he didn't think he was a big part of the team moving forward. and i highly doubt the 2 months after the signing did anything to change his mind. - DoubleDown
I agree, and that's why it's difficult to be patient with MB's plan. Though in his end-season presser, when asked about the signing he replied, "Hindsight is 20/20."

I don't mind keeping DD IF we solve 2 issues: Size and log jam at center.
As much as I love Eller... if we don't give him the ice time, trade him for a winger. |

Briere was brought in to replace Ryder. Not exacly that big of a deal. Yes Ryder is bigger but, he plays like he's 5'8. Briere plays bigger than he actually is so its basicly an upgrade.... Lets not forget that Chicago won the cup as the 2nd smallest team in the NHL so size isn't really all that important. It comes down to character and team chemistry in my opinion... - frankylee1
That is a misrepresentation. If you look at averages, that is true. Of course, Montreal's average goes up by adding Parros, and even Briere, believe it or not. Chicago did not have 5 top 9 guys under 6 feet tall. As MB likes to say, balance is the key. Chicago was pretty balanced. Habs are not.

Thats true but, what I'm trying to say is that we basicly replaced a player that plays small for one that actually is lol |

Or... Ryder was never the plan and was just traded to free up cap space... and MB chose to spend it on Briere. So do we think Briere was a big upgrade over Cole? |

No. It's just that everyone else appears smaller. Like rearview mirrors and the whole distance thing. |
