He probably just signed Brière to move him anyways....
DOMINOS!!! - BashCH
Of course he didn't. In signing Briere, the odd guys out should be Gio and Desharnais, but frankly, they both should have been on the block before long without Briere. |

Bergevin would not have signed DD for 4 years if he didn't think he was a big part of the team moving forward. and i highly doubt the 2 months after the signing did anything to change his mind. |

Yup....but with DD's new contract and Gionta on the IR...it'll be hard to trade any of the 2.
EDIT : The fact that they're midgets doesn't help either. |

Morrow plays D and PK. Both of which we need on this team. - CaseysHabs
Nobody addressed this?
Morrow does not play D. Well, unless you are referring to 1980 gold medalist and four time SC winner, Ken Morrow. |

You do realize that the core of the team was built by Gauthier/Gainey, right? What did Bergevin add? A washed-up undersized defenseman an a few bottom-6 players? - MrData
The core was all drafted players (Price, Subban, Pacioretty) which I give credit to Timmins. Eller was a good trade by Gauthier. Paciorretty was a good trade by Gainey. The mess i'm talking about is the Gomez trade (No need to say that we lost an impact player in this), Kaberle trade, 2 buyouts and it still not enough. To you he might just have added $hit, but to me, he added (with Therrien) a structure and a team concept to this organisation.
