I had all kinds of patience for MB and was totally buying in to a team that would
begin to contend in 2014-15. I looked forward to how he saw the future. Then he signed DD for 4 years based on one good year playing on a line with a guy who had a career year and another guy who had a breakout year. Then I got less optimistic about how MB saw the future. I still have hope he will move him some time before 2014-15 season begins.

Calm down.. The signing of DD isn't enough to label him as bad GM. He made some great moves since he's here (Putting down PK's ego for a bridge contract, Trading Cole for Ryder + 2nd) and others. DD might not have been a good one (Still very early to say btw) but you can't give up just for that..
Patience folks.. Patience..

When did free agency become an expression of interest? It's up to the GM to explore options and see which guys can meet a need and may be interested. I read somewhere that the habs were surprised Morrow was interested in playing in Montreal. Firstly, why? What does that say about how you feel about your own team. Secondly, why? Did you hear about his wife? Thirdly, why on earth have you not explored that and known one way or the other long before now?
- CaseysHabs

Exactly. They had 2 days before UFA started to inquire with anyone they wanted about bringing them on board. They didn't even call Morrow's agent and ask what it would take to bring him in?

If some fans are impatient to MB after a shortened season, his first on his tenure as Habs GM, while he's not done finishing cleaning Gainey/Gauthier mess, improved from 15th to division winner.... I think that no one can help theses fans....

If I may...

It seems so far that 30 teams passed on Morrow. He looked like a (frank)ing turtle in the playoffs.

i don't think it's hate towards Desharnais. i think it's the idea of Desharnais, Briere, Gionta and Gallagher on the same team.

Yes.
IMHO he doesn't fit in with a speed team like the Habs.

Why they signed brière is beyond me.

Hating Desharnais and believing he is a poor fit on a small team that has better C potential locked up are 2 different things. He's a great inspirational story, and on a bigger team that could insulate him, he'd be fine.

I willing to bet he'd turn into Travis Moen 2.0 if he signs here.

Speaking of which, why has everyone given up on Moen? He sucked for the first half season after a major injury but was excellent and earned his contract the year before that. Why not wait and see if he regains his form?

That's kinda been par for the course lately.
He's getting a little older and beat up. He seems to get injured a lot.

Bingo. Add Pleks and there are 5/9 guys who are under 6 feet in the top 9. Keeping 3 at most would be sensible. I would choose Pleks, Gallagher and Gio or Briere. DD and either Gio or Briere should be moved.

I don't think the blame's on him for last year I just think he's the knid of player who is injured and not able to give it 100% should just not be playing.

I like him and I hope he returns to form but he contributed nothing last season

Gio and Briere will not be moved, both for obvious reasons.

Likely DD will not be moved either, so you might as well just cheer for them.

Well....you have to play the cards you are given. Bringing in a 34 year old slow guy because you want to change the culture makes no sense because by the time the team has changed enough he'll be retired or washed up.

He would bring very little to the team right now.
