Isles now have 12 players signed for 2014-15. Only 4 of them (Nielsen, McDonald, Viz, Carkner) will be older than 27 when 14-15 begins.

Young and locked up heading to BK. Plenty of money to spend once they get there as well.

I must say how pleased I am with today's comments. I was beginning to wonder what it was that everyone else was seeing in this blog that I was missing. As a blogger myself, I take great pride in my daily writings and in the information I provide to my loyal readers. Blogging takes writing skills, personality, knowledge in subject area as well as a knack for conveying information. While Dee may be a hockey fan, simply having an interest or hobby does not qualify one for blogging.

From whom, out of curiosity? Only got to see him for the three games he played last season before being injured, so I can't speak to his overall game, but going solely by numbers, which doesn't tell the whole story, I know, I'm not seeing Karlsson...2 goals and 16 points in 56 games for Bridgeport two seasons ago and then last season was entirely lost to injury, spent mostly recovering and rehabbing rather than developing and improving. Seems like there's been a lot of deHaan hype here over the last week, and I'm wondering what spurred the change in thinking from "deHurt" to "Karlsson"...is it all based on that tweet that he was the final cut from camp five years ago?

he wont be karlsson....but he will be put up solid numbers and can run a powerplay..I was most impressed with his play in his own end and his ability to start a rush is really good..but not karlsson

ive talked to CDH at length because we had the same shoulder surgery and he actually recommended the doctor they use and gave me a heads up on what to expect. he told me bluntly "its gonna hurt" and I said when a hockey player says its gonna hurt..its gonna hurt..he burst out laughing and said "yup" also with the state of bport's defense last season I would randomly yell at him to get better..he's a really funny and great kid and he has the talent..he just needs some luck

On one hand the Bailey contract looks like too much money, but given the term and the amount of cap space we have, it's not a bad deal. If he continues to play inconsistent hockey and doesn't improve on his point totals then it'll look like a bad deal, however he scored 11 goals in under 40 games this year and was on a 20 goal pace for the first time, while playing good 2 way hockey and helping to solidify a second scoring line. If he can build on that it's a great signing.

Either way, he's another young kid locked up for a long time. Really liking that while doing this, we still have 16 mil cap space and plenty of room to keep these guys under contract while any prospects that finish their elc's can still be signed as well. Good cap management by Snow.

If Strome doesn't fit on the first line or isn't ready I'm hoping se see Bailey on the first line again. I think he can do some damage with JT.

If they leave Nielsen with Okposo and Bailey, and they are our third line in reality, if not name, they will only get better. If they expect (ESPECIALLY) Bailey to score a lot, he will falter. If they don't, he probably will score 50 points. He's just seemed so much better since they gave him a role as a checker- it seems to have taken the pressure off; seems to have rid him of the hesitation with the puck that plagued him for his whole career prior to that. Just as long as they don't force him to do something else, and be something he's not, he'll be worth every penny.

What do you do with Clutterbuck then?
That is the most expensive third line in hockey too.

Moulson... JT... Strome

Bailey... Neilsen... Okposo

Clutterbuck.... Nelson.... Bouchard

Grabner.... Cizikas... Martin

Something has to give on the LW... too much talent.

Need to find a way to get Grabner more ice time!!!

I guess it's a good problem to have.

Maybe Strome starts in Bridgeport... then Bailey can play on the top line, and we can move Grabner into his spot for now!!!

Plenty of "D" coming up from the minors.

Isles will be stocked with premium defencemen in the next 2 years.

Going to depend on what happens in camp. If Nelson makes the team he likely starts off centering the third line, probably between Clutterbuck and Grabner. I assume the fourth line would be some combination of Cizikas, Martin, McDonald and Regin...with either Regin or Cizikas centering.
