" Daniel Friedman ‏@DFriedmanWFAN 4m
Remember that Calvin de Haan was the final cut from #Isles' training camp in his DRAFT YEAR.
- jimmc7722

Thats all well and good, but this training camp coming up will make that final cut 5 seasons ago.. FIVE!
If it were last season, id go.. Ohhhh awesome
If it were 2 seasons ago id go... Sweet he's had extra development
if it was 3 seasons ago id start to wonder what is stopping him from making the jump
if it was 4 seasons ago id wonder how bad our D was in 09
Its 5 seasons ago... im a whole lot less excited about ALMOST making the cut half a decade ago. I know the kid has talent & everything... I want him to be a stud, but id be happy with a serviceable player at this point.

Me too...tired of seeing the "Eric Lindros skate" right from the bench to the ambulance.

On a power play with JT, could be lethal. Especially once Ryan Pulock brings his 100+ mph slapper up.

keaner17

- keaner17

Pulluck was unablet to display it during skill portion of the prospects game.
In the hardest shot, Griffin Reinhart (91 mph), Andrey Pedan (91 mph) and Ryan Pulock (93 mph) all broke 90 mph on the radar gun, but the Orange team’s Mike Dalhuisen recorded the hardest two blasts, with each hitting 97 mph

Granted that Dalhuisen is college kid an has few years on these kids.

I can't believe how many people are complaining about the Bailey signing!!!

If he plays anywhere near close to what he did last year... this will be a great contract.

Locked up for 5 years!!!

The only thing I think about is "How much will Moulson want next year???

5 million???

Eric Lindros..... he could have been one of the all time greats. He was a beast.. I hated when we had to play against him & the LOD... but he was something to watch.

This is a really good low risk, high reward contract for a player that this franchise has alot of expectations on.

I keep hearing that deHaan is going to be a major factor for the Isles. Could be our Erik Karlsson

Xxkeaner17xX

- keaner17

From whom, out of curiosity? Only got to see him for the three games he played last season before being injured, so I can't speak to his overall game, but going solely by numbers, which doesn't tell the whole story, I know, I'm not seeing Karlsson...2 goals and 16 points in 56 games for Bridgeport two seasons ago and then last season was entirely lost to injury, spent mostly recovering and rehabbing rather than developing and improving. Seems like there's been a lot of deHaan hype here over the last week, and I'm wondering what spurred the change in thinking from "deHurt" to "Karlsson"...is it all based on that tweet that he was the final cut from camp five years ago?

I wasn't exactly being 100% serious in the Karlsson comments. NYI178 is big on him here. Also know a couple of guys who frequented Bridgeport games from an old messageboard I used to hang around on (until Order 66 ) talk about his skating and ability to move the puck.

The average NHL salary is near $3 million per season now. I have no problem locking Bailey up for that term on a team that won't sniff at the cap ceiling for another 3-5 years. He has the ability, only needs the consistency and is now likely to play on a line with the most consistent player in our clubhouse.

$3.3M per is a lot for Bailey, but not egregious. He made out very well on this deal. Now he has to live up to it and produce. No more 12 goal, 35 point seasons.

He has something still left in the tank. 30 points last year in 48 games is not bad. Would have been in the top 5 scoring on this team. I don't see them going after him but he would help out on the PP and it would give the kids another year to grow in the minors
