Most overvalued player on this site. Philly fans think this guy is a Hart trophy candidate.
- rmiethaner

He isn't the most overvalued player by Philly fans. Not even close.

also outscored all Cs in OTT.

outscored Seguin, pavelski, turris, stastny, schenn

gags could be asking for too much or there could be a trade in place. How do you know? I'll tell you. You don't. You're a dumb, pathetic troll

Don't worry about him. trolleytracks is one of those types that thinks he's gods gift to player assesment. He doesn't have anything good to say about anything and simply puts everyone else down. His comebacks are loaded with insults which is a clear demonstration of his shortcomings.

I don't understand these trade suggestions. I can see Gagner being traded now that he is at odds with the Oil. He can play center or WING. There is a lot of demand for a 22 year old with 400+ games already that can be that versatile. I also agree that the Oil have too many dmen. Especially since the rookies looked decent at camp. Gernat looks like he might only be one more year away. Which means Nurse, Marcinin and Gernat might be in our top 6 best dmen next year.

That being said, why is Smid always the one in the trade rumors. I also like Phaneuf but Smid is a cheaper and more consistent version. Smid is great defensively, he is still young, he likes playing in Edmonton and he is tough kid. Why trade him to anyone?

The Oil need to look at adding another guy to their third line. I still like Antropov for this role since he can play center/wing and we need an extra center for October. Plus he is HUGE and is probably pretty cheap right about now. I also think the Oil might prefer Miller to Dubnyk. I don't think it is going to take much more than these two straight across to get this done. Maybe one of our good d prospects or maybe just duby and Hemsky. Dubnyk's numbers were better than Millers last year and he fits with their youth movement. Miller is a gamble as he looked terrible last year and Edmonton would trade for him only based on previous years. I personally don't know who is better but Miller is more popular. MacT would look a little less stupid after acquiring Miller and Perron than just talking big and the only trade he manages is the Perron one (which we overpaid on).

You aren't supposed to understand any of his ideas. Very few make sense.

Why would Buffalo want Hemsky in a deal for Miller? Hemsky would be worthless to Buffalo. He doesn't solve anything.

If you get Antropov, you need to deal or buyout Hemsky. That would be two enigmas on the roster.

Just a little tidbit I didn't agree with in your blog... Martin is not a 3/4 guy, he is a #2 guy, and a good one at that. Easily our best dman last season. As for orpik though your right on him he is a 3-4 guy at this point.
- matt1396

Of course he was your best dman. Your only real dman was injured. Martin has always been a career 3-4 guy. Always. I have him in my fantasy pool as I kept thinking he would break out and be a 1-2 guy but not going to happen. He looked good last year because you had an all star team. Pretty easy to dominate on the point when all you have to do is pass the puck to Neal, Dupios, Crosby, Malkin, Iggy... A train chimp would look good playing with those forwards. I know Defense is a different position but when you dominate on puck possession it is easy to be a good dman.

I think Hemsky is exactly who Buffalo needs. 1. He is a one year contract on a team that has no cap problems and a huge need for a top 6 winger during their move to rebuilding. 2. He is a name that will help ease the displeasure in the dressing room and with the fans about the loss of some popular players from their roster. He would also be basically a throw in as Dubey out played Miller last year and has a very good chance of being a good goalie long term. Plus they have Enroth who also looks like he could break out this season.

Miller already said he doesn't want to play with the team he has in front of him. He might be challenged for the spot this year by Enroth. Now is the time to get something for him and who else can offer a younger starter and a top 6 winger?

Hemsky is a bandaid while their youth movement is being made. If he works out, then they have a veteran winger, if he doesn't, then they can part ways with him at the end of the year.

Giroux Vinny Couts Schenn Voracek...Gagner holds no value for me, i don't think he is a top six player (yes i know i know 19th in center scoring or some such crap). I might give ya a wash on Schenn.
- Marshalle

nice try. Voracek has taken 102 faceoffs in 367 career games. He is not, never has been, and never will be a centre

For once I agree with you. These trades all come out of RC's ass. None are happening. Clouts is a hack trying to look smart and is trolling for hits. Period.

It's funny Cloutier still mentions Penner, considering Penner's agent shot down that rumor.

Miller doesn't want to play for the team in front of him, but he wants to play for Edmonton? He would be miserable with what's in front of him as well - especially defensively.

Hemsky would be worthless in Buffalo. He does nothing short term or long term. He would be a 5-million dollar mistake by Buffalo. If Buffalo moves Miller to Edmonton, I'd want Dubey and a pick or a decent prospect with some value instead of Hemsky as a five million throw in.

Eklund...you really are a useless and classless bumhole just like Kovalchuk. Not only are you wrong about 99.9999% of the time on everything you post about, but you just showed how little class you have by laughing in a post that you made about how the Devils lost Kovalchuk. Don't remember? how about you look at option ten for the "Oilers big trade on Sunday". Eat poop bumhole. Lack of class and an extreme public hatred for the Devils. No wonder everyone hates your site!

Gagner/Hemsky are worth about as much as the oil I drained from my car today. The Oilers can't make trades because they have nothing to give. Get over yourself.

Gagner thinks he's worth $5M when he's basically Bozak but can't win faceoffs to save his life. Hemsky is a salary cap floor pawn in the game of hockey. If a player is useless to the Oilers, he's useless to the other 29 teams as well.

Dear OilHorse, report me for voicing my opinion.

- trolleytracks

Honestly! Just because everyone on here figures Ganger needs to go for some reason doesn't mean he's ever actually been shopped. I don't think he has ever been on the block, IMO. The oil brass like his compete level, and what he brings. Ya he's small and they have never had a large supporting winger for him, but they also haven't had a center to replace him if they send him packing. So it doesn't make sense. IMO I bet you they have had more offers for him, than thoughts of moving him. The whole Ganger wanting 5 mill may change that, but i don't think that has happened yet. I think there would be a market for him. So the whole "the oilers can't deal Ganger because he's worthless" is ludicrous.
Hemsky on the other hand, you are prob right. He's in a tough situation, a bit of a rut, and now he has been leapfrogged on the depth chart. He's not a 3rd line winger. A change of scenery is exactly what he needs. Just to bad his value has got so low. I think there has been deals there but Tambellini overvalued him. They have always thought highly of him. He has top end talent, and I guarantee you whoever gets him will have a steal. He will start giving a sh*t and return form to be a top line/ 2nd line winger, he just has to ditch some of the bad habbits he's picked up playing on a terrible team for the last 5+ years.
(on second thought maybe i should use the phrase "guarantee" loosely, ha)

just curious as the more I think about it and hear the details, it seems as though lou aint nearly as upset as most devils fans. quite ok with it actually

u really think gagner has little to no value? u think he's basically bozak that cant win faceoffs?? im not even slighting bozak, but I think theyre vastly different players and bring different skill sets.

why do u hate the oilers so much?

Since all these blogs are made up anyways. Maybe cloutier can make up a different one instead of re wording the same blog all week. At least then I can read you guys argue over something different. I love how this blog claimed to be legit rumours out there but by the end your reading them and you can tell they are made up. He even mentions how he was making them up to get to ten. Just post an empty blog and let us argue. At least then you could keep some credibility.

Ya he's wrong there but Giroux, Lecavalier, Couturier, Schenn, Read, Talbot and occasionally even Rinaldo can all play center. The absolute last thing we need is another center.

I think it's the difference between "why would we acquire Gagner" with the answer being there's no intelligible reason, and "where would Gagner be on the depth chart if we already had him" which I contend would be higher than 5th centre.

Flyers fans were arguing one thing, theNugeisHuge was arguing the other.

He'd be the 3rd center. At the moment his level of play is above Couturier.
