He is a RFA that has not proven himself and the KHL is trying to lure him away with a big contract.....you want to call about him?

Are u convinced Enroth or Hackett can be a "#1" goalie?
I'm not
Markstrom has talent
The more talent u can add, the better the competition, and the better the chance the guys who wins out will be of good quality

I think the KHL talk is just a ploy to get more $ from Florida
I'd take it more seriously if Markstrom was Russian

And Miller hasn't been traded yet, presumably bc there aren't any takers... So if Florida is an becoming an option, why not get a talented young goalie (plus more) in return?

Enroth n hackett have not proven anything...

Enroth is solid and has had better stats in every season.. but I remember mid season every one of us were cursing him to the wind with all the 5 holes softies hr was letting in... he also didn't record a win for close to a year in his easy home games or his end of a bck to bck.

So what has Jonathan Bernier proven? And people here were screaming for him to be Buffalo's #1 goalie. Does Enroth need to go 22-3 in his 25 starts as a backup before people give him a chance?

Its a win-win if enroth is your starter this year. If he does bad, we get a better pick because of it (possibly top 5), if he does well then we know he can handle the role of a starting goalie.

I'm willing to give him a chance,
Hopefully Enroth works out and we won't have to worry about it
But if he's just "average" then we are going to have to look for other options
Maybe I'm jumping the gun here?
But we missed out on Bernier (who I liked) & if another young talented goalie is going to get moved for a very reasonable cost...
I'd like to know we at least made a call about him

Who said not to give Enroth a chance?
All ppl are saying is that we aren't convinced he can be a "#1"
But it's not like any of us want him to fail

Give enroth a chance to be your number one. same with hackett. if neither can play we get a top 5 pick (there is only 3,4 decent players in this years draft anyway)

if they can play then we have our starter. miller stays a sabre until season I think...i hope not but i think darcy is being too protective on offers

Makes sense
I'm ok with them getting a shot
But both are a coin flip
So if we have the chance to acquire more young goalie talent,
I think that's a good idea
As long as its a decent price

Miller hopefully gets traded ASAP
Vanek too

i think buffalo is going to have to make a trade that includes a huge conditional on if miller resigns.

like miller for ganger, we give them a 2015 2nd rounder if miller doesnt resign, they give us a 2015 3rd if ganger doesnt resign.

something awful like that

Do you not remember the trade deadline and leading up to it when people were screaming for the Sabres to trade for Bernier? I think goalies are overrated anyway, who thought Bobrovsky would play like this past season? How many people think Corey Crawford is a legit #1 goalie or just the only goalie the Hawks have, same with Reimer. Viktor Fasth went undrafted, I'd say he had himself a pretty good year. Also on the point of Vanek, why would Pegula and Co. still want him on the team if indeed he turned down that big extension it was rumored he was offered. Now I'm not going to say Vanek will take games off but do we really think he's going to give 110% every game if he knows he's gone after this year? Will be great locker room chemistry when a kid like Zemgus is playing his a$% off and sees Vanek taking plays off, etc.

For a team whose biggest concern, arguably, is the defensive play of its forwards, I don't believe that Brunner is a fit.

The Wild fans think that Heatley and a '15 1st is enough to get Vanek.

That might not be that bad. Except for the part where Dany Heatley would have to share a locker room with Pat Kaleta, which would be very bad. 2015 should be a better draft than 2014, and there is reason to believe that Minnesota will be better this coming year than the next. Heatley would obviously be coming back solely with the hope that Darcy could do his magic and get a 1st in 2014 for him at the deadline. So, it would be Vanek for half a season of Heatley, and 1sts in 2014 and 2015. I think I'd be alright with that. It will never happen, but I think I'd be alright with it.
