Maybe as they learn more in the coming yrs but as of right now they are lost on concussions. As Ballard

The statement you made suggests you are saying he should just make it up. It is not that easy. He will have to prove it.

Wrong in what sense? Saying there's no evidence to support the LTIR claim after conducting independent tests? Insurance fraud is a stupid way to go about circumventing the cap.
- DrChristianTroy

So luongo says he's lightheaded and tired. Did Willie Mitchell come back and play this season dispite the kings clearing him?

Why would Luongo even go along with it? This idea is just stupid...

Insurance companies will challenge anything. ANYTHING. They will not just settle a multi-million dollar case because someone claims to have a concussion. Wow.

Lu does have a concussion even the slightest one and it gets worse. Have you heard some of the latest studies about concussions? Like 80% of teens suffer one. Honestly I think its pretty clear that currently the docs are grasping at straws with the whole concussion theory. Will they know far more in a few yrs? Maybe

It would also mean Luo go would have to live a sheltered life to fake concussion symptoms etc. Why would he? Hes owed the money either way, there is no need for him to create a mess for himself just to help the Canucks.

Insurance companies question Cancer patients in order to get out of paying for chemo. They hit record profits quarter after quarter. He will have to have an actual concussion and his body will have to respond to baseline tests accordingly. Not because he has a headache.

Yep, and if by chance he's wrong even the smallest one. He no longer has a license. Like I said, no doc will touch it.
- Bieksa#3

And the doctor making a false diagnosis to fraud insurance companies won't lose their license?

Yep and they can get nailed.

My sister/bro and laws house burnt about 8 yrs ago. The insurance company tried to jerk them around. They sued the insuranse company for pain and suffering. Soon as the sent the documents of the lawsuit the company started squirming. Offering twice what the Max payout on the policy was, had to pay all legal fees. True story.

Yes, I keep up to date on concussion studies... and what you're suggesting about faking symptoms for 2-3yrs of LTIR cap relief still makes no sense.

Perhaps. But as I said. If luongo says I'm light headed after any vigorous activity or nautous. What is a doc gonna say? Ask the kings how it played out with Willie Mitchell this past season

Pain and suffering? Did the insurance company cause the fire? Come on this sounds so bogus.

Your original premise was for him to fake it. This case has no relevence and doesn't relate. There was an actual fire and they still Richarded your family around.

If the Kings cleared him, his cap hit was still in play and they didn't have to worry about Insurance fraud... Whether Mitchell decided to play or not is irrelevant.

But why would Luongo do that? Also, this would mean that for 2-5 years Luo go would have to refrain from all physical activities...so I ask, why would he?

I'm just making conversation, as i said Mitchell did it. Hell I don't even know if these 12 yrs contracts are insured like a normal contract.
As i said a month ago, don't be surprised if Lu is bought out next yr if one of the young goalies shows promise. I'm not sure why everybody was even the slightest surprised on the Schneider trade. I know for a fact I told you specifically I would bet on a Schneider trade

He is going to be tested just like everyone else. Willie Mitchell was his knee wasn't it? Whats he got to do with it.

This makes no sense. They already had a younger goalie with promise and traded him because they didn't want to buy Luongo out.

If he is bought out on a compliance buyout the team pays, not insurance.

If they CLEARED HIM TO PARTICIPATE, then why wouldn't his cap hit be in play? You can't clear a guy then leave him on the injured list to avoid his cap hit... I'm going off what YOU SAID. Whether he played or not after they cleared him is his choice.

As i said, a month ago that Schneider was there only way to get something out of it and still be quite solid in net for the up coming season.
If Gilles hadn't mismanaged the situation last summer we wouldn't have had to do it. As i said it makes perfect sense.
